We’re taking over Spirits Bar at The Escape Warehouse in Ponchatoula for drag, karaoke, and a costume contest. Tuffy Love is hosting, with Lana O’Day, Thorne Hart, and Roxie C. Black all on stage. Start practicing your SLAY scream now, you’re going to need it.

Bring your boos or come make some new ones. Scary, sexy, weird, whatever you’ve got!

The Rocky Horror Bingo Show is Friday, October 16, 6 to 8 PM at Tandem Coffee & Cocktails, 424 Girod Street in Mandeville. Dr. Tuffy Love Andrews and Lana O’Day are hosting, with prizes, performances and plenty of community.

Fishnets? Lipstick? We say go for it.

Happy International Le***an Day! 🧡🤍🩷

The day is usually traced to 1980, when about 40 le****ns marched through Wellington, New Zealand. It later moved to October 8th, spread to Australia, and is now celebrated around the world.

So here’s to the le****ns on the Northshore.. the ones who helped build this community and the ones just finding it! 💕

There’s been a lot of discussion surrounding HIV testing in New Orleans in the last week, so we want to make sure community members on the Northshore know that free and low-cost HIV and STI testing is available here, too.

We can’t confirm that every location is explicitly trans and q***r affirming, but Access Health Louisiana specifically provides LGBTQ+ care. 🏳️‍🌈 Some organizations have also faced pressure to remove LGBTQ+ language from their websites to keep federal funding, so the absence of that language doesn’t necessarily mean a provider isn’t welcoming.

Hours, costs, and appointment requirements can change, so we recommend you call ahead before you go.

October is LGBTQ+ History Month. 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️✨

In 1994 a Missouri teacher named Rodney Wilson argued that LGBTQ+ history deserved a month of study.

Part of this history has happened across the lake in New Orleans. And some of it happened right here on the Northshore on June 1, 2024, when St. Tammany Parish held its first Pride parade.

Thank you for being part of that history. Every day you choose to be visible, you add to it.
