Our Society was blessed with an amazing donation this last week! Our member, Dana Merryday, donated the Taylor Family Bible that was auctioned off last month by Goodwill.
We did try to win the auction, but our bid wasn't high enough, well Dana stuck it out and now it is part of our holdings.

This will be a special way to celebrate the 100th Anniversary of the release of Buster Keaton's masterpiece "the General". A special showing on the big screen in the comfort of the Cottage Theatre. The film will be shown accompanied by the specially composed musical score that was primered in Cottage Grove for the 80th anniversary! Follow link to get your tickets. The Cottage Grove Historical Society invites you to join us for a special 100th Anniversary showing of Buster Keaton’s film The General. The film will be shown at the Cottage Theatre, on Saturday, August 29th at 7:30 pm.
This classic movie was filmed in and around Cottage Grove in 1926, and appears on many top 100 lists. Tickets are $10 each and are available on the Theatre’s website cottagetheatre.org. Seats are limited, so order yours soon.
