Looking back on this past weekend with nothing but gratitude as we celebrated the annual Bean Automotive Group Bella’s Ball, presented by Nicklaus Children’s Hospital.
 
We are incredibly grateful to our community that came together to make this special night possible.
 
Together, we honored children and families impacted by childhood cancer and had the privilege of celebrating their milestones, all of the new beginnings, and every chapter in their journeys.
 
“Tomorrow Starts Tonight” represented the future—a new horizon for children who have battled cancer and for those who are still actively battling. We focused on survivorship and how the cancer journey does not end when treatment ends. Bella’s Ball reminds us that, together, our community can make a difference, and our actions now will mean a brighter tomorrow for these children.

At our 6th Annual Live Like Bella Pediatric Cancer Research Symposium, presented by Amazon, we gathered some of the brightest minds in pediatric cancer to do something that is anything but easy: accelerate the search for a cure.

2 days. 6 sessions. 20+ leading institutions. 22 sponsors. Experts from Seattle to Rome.

Physicians, researchers, policymakers, advocates, survivors and families came together in Miami to move pediatric cancer research forward — from discovery to survivorship.

We unveiled and launched the Comprehensive Childhood Cancer Network (CCCN), a Live Like Bella initiative supported by the Florida Cancer Innovation Fund that connects institutions, researchers and families through a free portal available to families nationwide.

Discoveries cannot stay confined to the lab. It is our mission to make sure the inspiring conversations and connections made at this year’s Research Symposium are carried forward to institutions across the country, where science will continue to advance and where childhood cancer will one day be cured.

Sofia stood beside Sara through every day of her cancer treatment, bringing comfort, laughter, and normalcy. She decorated Sara’s hospital room, moved into her bedroom so she wouldn’t sleep alone, and made welcome-home baskets after hospital stays. In middle school, she even organized a sweatpants fundraiser for Live Like Bella.
 
Companion, cheerleader, steady source of love — Sofia shows that the most meaningful way to support someone is simply to keep showing up.

Keyra Valencia-Arteaga
Acute lymphoblastic leukemia fighter, Age 20
 
In 2024, Keyra was looking ahead to graduation and her birthday. Her family celebrated with a trip to Miami — two days later, she fell ill and developed a wound on her right cheek. The diagnosis: acute lymphoblastic leukemia.
 
Today, Keyra is in remission. She dreams of returning to school and becoming an engineer, and her parents say she lights up when she talks about building things and solving problems. Cancer interrupted her plans, but it couldn’t take her courage to keep dreaming. We’re honored to celebrate her resilience and her belief in the future ahead.

Introducing us tonight are our spectacular emcees - Madi, Braulio, and Ale - all pediatric cancer survivors who have brought their strength and stories to the stage alongside our CEO, Nicole De Lara Puente, and our Chairman and Vice Chairman, Raymond and Shannah Rodriguez-Torres.
