Big moment for pediatric cancer research!

Our Live Like Bella Director of Research Partnerships, Dr. Chris Hagemeyer, represented us at the American Society of Clinical Oncology in Chicago this week, one of the world's largest oncology conferences with 44K+ attendees from 166 countries.

Dr. Hagemeyer presented the work conducted under the Florida Department of Health funded grant, "Live Like Bella Comprehensive Childhood Cancer Network" (CCCN) – led by Principal Investigator: Nicole de Lara Puente – showcasing the critical work we're doing to transform care for children with cancer. He was joined by Dr. Jennifer McCafferty-Fernandez, PhD, FACHE, BCPA, Chair of our CCCN; Dr. Ray Mailhot, Radiation Oncologist at the University of Miami; and Dr. Erin Mobley, Assistant Professor at the University of Florida.

This is what it looks like when we show up for our children on a national stage. Every conversation brings us one step closer to a world where no child has to fight alone.

Want to learn more about the innovative research helping shape the future of childhood cancer care? Register for the Live Like Bella Pediatric Cancer Research Symposium by visiting LiveLikeBella.org and be part of the conversation.

June is National Cancer Survivor Month, a time to honor every person who has bravely faced cancer. 🎗️

At Live Like Bella, we especially recognize our childhood cancer heroes, children who face cancer head-on with courage and strength. We also hold close every family whose lives have been forever changed, and we stand with those still in treatment today.

This month, we honor survivors, remember every child we have lost, and continue supporting families at every stage of their journey.

Survivorship is hope in motion, help us keep it moving forward! Make a difference today by donating at LiveLikeBella.org.

Sara’s cancer-free era unlocked 🔔

Today, Sara Montenegro rang the Bell of Hope surrounded by her parents, grandma, and her “Sara’s Squad” to celebrate an incredible milestone: three years of clean scans!

In true Sara style, she celebrated with a High School Musical-themed party, all her favorite treats, her squad, and a shirt that said it best: “In my cancer-free era.” Her dad stood proudly by her side wearing a shirt that read “Dad of a Warrior,” a beautiful reminder of the strength and love that carried their family through.

At this year’s Superhero 5K, Sara and her squad won the “Super Jules Award” for top fundraisers. Sara surpassed her original goal of $500 and was honored with the award after raising more than $5,000 for other children battling cancer.

Sara, you are proof of what hope, strength, and generosity look like. 🎉 To support children like Sara and their families, visit LiveLikeBella.org. 💛

Today, we remember Bella Rodriguez-Torres, a joyful and loving light whose beautiful spirit continues to inspire us every single day. ❤️

As you swipe through some of Bella’s favorite things, we hope you feel inspired to celebrate life the way she always did: with joy, kindness, love, and happiness in even the smallest moments.

One of the most meaningful ways we can honor Bella is by carrying her spirit forward each day through the way we treat others, find joy in everyday moments, and choose love and kindness whenever we can. Today, we encourage you to celebrate Bella by enjoying something she loved most. ✨

Tag us and show us how you today and every day. 💛

Today, Live Like Bella kicked off the summer at Nicklaus Children's Hospital with a special event for patients and their families in the new Panda Cares Center of Hope and Seacrest Studios. 🌊

To bring a little bit of summer inside the hospital walls, patients created their own “Ocean in a Bottle” keepsakes filled with beachy inspiration and fun ocean creatures. Families also enjoyed a special s’mores station to share Bella’s favorite sweet treat and get into the summer spirit. ☀️

Moments like these remind us of the importance of creating joyful memories for children bravely fighting cancer, allowing them to simply be kids. Thank you to the incredible Child Life team and hospital staff at NCH, and our wonderful volunteer Kim from Nailed It DIY Studio Miami, for helping make today so special for these families.

Help us continue creating moments of joy, comfort, and connection for children and families facing childhood cancer. 💛

During National Cancer Research Month, we are reminded that every breakthrough begins with research, and every investment in research brings us one step closer to a future where no child has to battle cancer.

This week, our Chairman and Bella’s Dad, Raymond Rodriguez-Torres, had the distinct honor of delivering the Keynote Address at the 5th Annual Research Week at Nemours Children’s Hospital Orlando. Nemours is one of 11 renowned institutions across the state of Florida receiving support through the Live Like Bella Pediatric Cancer Research Initiative. It is through investments in these institutions, these scientists, and these groundbreaking discoveries that we will achieve a cancer-free future for children.

Raymond dedicated his lecture to his dear friend Ralph F. Geronimo, a devoted “Bella Believer” whose unwavering faith, generosity, and friendship left a lasting impact on so many. Accompanied by Ralph’s family, Raymond reflected on the profound difference supporters like Ralph make in helping us continue Bella’s mission.

We are deeply grateful to the dedicated professionals at Nemours, including Dr. Tammy Westmoreland and the members of the Westmoreland Lab, Dr. David Dickens, Chief of Oncology at Nemours Children’s Hospital, and Anthony and Jessica Geronimo, for their shared commitment to changing the future of pediatric cancer.

Together, we will continue fighting for more research, more treatments, and more tomorrows.

Some stories make a lasting impression. Miguel's story is one of those.

Born January 6, 2009, Miguel was the sweetest, most loving kid, someone who brought joy into every room. An unexpected Thanksgiving trip to the doctor revealed what months of headaches couldn't explain: a nongerminomatous germ cell tumor. At just 13 years old, Miguel would endure over 60 chemotherapy treatments, 30 radiation sessions, and multiple surgeries before tragically losing his battle on October 22, 2024.

We are deeply honored to have walked alongside the Gonzalez family, whose words will always stay with us: "We thank God every day for organizations like Live Like Bella, who helped us feel less alone." To the Gonzalez family- thank you for trustung us and sharing his light with us. We will carry Miguel with us always. 🕊️

This Brain Cancer Awareness Month, honor Miguel's story by helping another family feel less alone. Visit LiveLikeBella.org to donate today.

Meet Soleil. 🌸
Just shortly after her first birthday, Soleil was diagnosed with a yolk sac germ cell tumor, a rare and serious cancer that no family ever expects to face so soon. And yet, through every hard day, she remains exactly who she is: a happy, laughing, playful baby who lights up every room and has been responding beautifully to treatment.

Live Like Bella is honored to support the Carter family with gift card assistance to help cover everyday expenses, ensuring they can pour every ounce of energy into their baby girl. To the Carter family, your strength inspires us, and Soleil's joy is a gift to everyone who hears her story!

Families like Soleil's shouldn't have to worry about groceries while fighting for their child's life. Support our mission through LiveLikeBella.org and help us keep supporting families liker theirs.
