November 4 through November 11, 2026

A single green light may seem like a small gesture, but to a veteran, it can carry a powerful message: You are seen. You are appreciated. You are not forgotten.

As we approach Veterans Day, we encourages families, businesses, organizations, and communities across our nation to participate in Operation Green Light for Veterans.

💚 By changing one light bulb to green in your home, porch, office, or business, you can show your appreciation for the brave men and women who have worn our nation's uniform.

For many veterans, the journey doesn't end when military service does. Their experiences, sacrifices, and dedication remain part of who they are. They deserve to know that their communities recognize their service and stand beside them.

At Blue Star Mothers of America, honoring and supporting our veterans is at the heart of our mission. We believe that every veteran deserves respect, gratitude, and a community that cares.

A big part of our mission is helping veterans, active-duty service members, their families, and our community.

Behind every service member is a family making its own sacrifices.

The missed holidays and milestones.

The loneliness of solo parenting.

The kids adapting over and over.

The constant see-you-laters and learning to make a home wherever the military sends you.

This month, we recognize the families who serve in ways the world doesn’t see.

Behind every brave service member is often a mother whose heart carries a special kind of love.

A love that celebrates every accomplishment, holds tightly to every memory, and finds strength through the moments of uncertainty.

A favorite meal before deployment. ❤️

Pictures taken whenever everyone is finally together again. 📸
A familiar recipe, a special ornament, or a tradition passed from one generation to the next.

Military life can bring miles between loved ones and moments when someone important is missing from the table. But the traditions we hold close have a beautiful way of reminding us that distance can never diminish love.

Today, on National Day of the Deployed, Blue Star Mothers of America honors the brave men and women serving far from home and the families who carry their absence in their hearts every single day.

Deployment is measured in more than miles. It is missed birthdays, holidays celebrated apart, empty chairs at the dinner table, late night phone calls, countdowns, care packages, and the hope of a safe return home.

To our deployed service members, we see your sacrifice, we honor your service, and we are grateful for you. 🇺🇸

To the mothers, fathers, spouses, children, siblings, grandparents, and loved ones waiting at home, we recognize your strength and sacrifice, too. ❤️
