Old Concord Chapter, NSDAR - Concord, MA Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) Chapter based in Concord, MA. Founded in 1894. This site is not an official NSDAR website.

More than 1,000,000 women have joined the organization since it was founded over 125 years ago. They became members to honor their heritage as well as make

a difference in their communities across the country and the world. These vibrant, active women are the heart of the organization. Learn more about the amazing history of the DAR and what members are doing today to continue that legacy. Any woman 18 years or older - regardless of race, religion, or ethnic background - who can prove lineal descent from a patriot of the American Revolution, is eligible for membership. She must provide documentation for each statement of birth, marriage and death, as well as of the Revolutionary War service of her Patriot ancestor. For details, go to: www.dar.org. Our chapter is a partner of Wreath's Across America (WAA) an organization that places wreaths on Veterans graves at the holidays. You can choose to sponsor a wreath for any veteran, or if you have a particular veteran in your family, you can sponsor a wreath for your family member.

6 of our 8 Good Citizens were honored by the Old Concord Chapter in March. Each were asked to speak about their service work for a few minutes and we all celebrated them, with their parents, together, in community. The Essay winner received flowers from all of us. MA State Senator Eldridge spoke of how vital service groups (like the DAR) are to democracy and society, to our group of >50 attendees. As Chair, I spoke about the history of The DAR Good Citizens Program rewarding students for already performing service to their communities. It was a fun night!

On the 20th day of April, in the year 2026, the good people of Concord are called to CELEBRATE! Once the last marcher passes through Monument Square, the streets come ALIVE for the Concord Block Party! Live music! Food trucks! Beer gardens! Performances! Activities for young and old alike — and ALL OF IT FREE! From the close of the parade until three o’clock in the afternoon, Concord Center is YOUR gathering place.
