Lone Star Akita Rescue (LSAR) joined SafeHaven Animal Rescue Team. All the Akitas under the LSAR are located at our Rescue Ranch and up for adoption.

SafeHART is a under Animal House Project, a 501 c3. Akitas & Large Breed Dogs are still our Passion.

🆘🆘🛑. Do you recognize me? I need our Akita Warriors help in possibly locating this baby’s family! Another akita was found wandering a housing development in San Antonio Texas. A good Samaritan found her and she is safe. Yes, she was checked for a chip and has one and we are running it down but so far no luck. She is in excellent condition. We will make arrangements for her to go to the vet that Hachi went to. If anyone down there can foster her, please pm us.

She is super sweet to his cats, kids and other dogs. ♥️♥️. Send me a PM if you know or recognize this pup and we will need to fundraise 😞 to cover her vet bills.

Big lake shelter is in big lake texas. 70 miles west of San Angelo, or 70 miles south of midland

💙 Meet this handsome Akita boy! 💙

This sweet guy is roughly 2–3 years old, and unfortunately, this is his second time finding himself at our shelter. 🐾

The first time he was with us, he was an absolute sweetheart with people! He loved our shelter staff and showed us just how wonderful he can be with humans. His biggest challenge seems to be with other dogs, as he can be selective and would do best as the only dog in the home.

He was adopted on his last day at the shelter, but shortly after going home, his adopter contacted us with concerns about growling. They wanted to give him some time to adjust, but the behavior continued, so we eventually brought him back to the shelter.

We can’t say for certain what caused the behavior in his new home, and we don’t want to make assumptions. Interestingly, our shelter crew is all female, and he has not growled at any of us since returning. He has been a good boy with our staff and continues to show us his sweet side. ❤️

He can be a little stubborn when it comes to heading outside to his kennel 😂, but once he’s out, he’s just a pretty great guy!

We truly believe this boy deserves someone who will take the time to understand him, give him patience, structure, and plenty of love. He may not be everyone’s perfect match, but for the right person, he could be a wonderful companion. 🐶💙

🆘 Okay our Akita and Chow Warriors!! We need you again!! While we were working on Hachi, we had another long coat young Akita and Chow who were patiently waiting to enter our rescue.

🐾🐾Paws up to Mia Maria for capturing them while they were on the lamb. 😳. Thank you for everyone who offered help in transporting and Jenna for making the trip from Angleton to Commerce Texas. ❤️.

Well, we named the Akita - Tinka because she is a tiny weighs in at 40 lbs. Our initial assessment - she needs a complete shave. There is not one area that isn’t matted or knotted. We have scheduled her vetting and Tests (🙏🏻 she is HW-) and spay for this week. She is an absolute sweetheart!! Loves people. Wants to give kisses and we know she is grateful for the save. ❤️🐾

As for the Chow 😳. He is not happy at all that he is separated from Tinka and so far we have not been able to assess him. He is also young and small. He is safe and being fed and decompressing. We are looking for a rescue who can help!

😞 The backlog of Akitas waiting to enter SafeHaven Animal Rescue Team/LSAR, Lone Star Akita Rescue Kennels is long. We continue to help and support those we can but we need our supporters help with our operations.

Covered. 🆘🆘LSAR, Lone Star Akita Rescue and SafeHaven Animal Rescue Team needs transport help. We have two young - one male Chow and one female long coat akita located at a temporary foster in Angleton, Texas that we need to move to our offsite boarding kennel as soon as possible.

We will pay for all fuel costs. If you can help please send us a PM. This is an urgent request.

If we cannot get transport, maybe another foster who can help us get vetting for these two.

🎉🎉🎉 Adopted 🎉🎉🎉. Looks like his Foster is now his new Daddy!! Plus he is part of a pack. ♥️♥️♥️. Hi all! Just wanted to give you an update on Sulli. He is settling in at his Foster Dad’s home and has been introduced to his pack. ❤️. Per his Foster:

He has a good checkup at my vet this afternoon. We'll have lab results Monday. XRays were taken. He weighed 91 lbs. Based on the limited plaque buildup on his teeth they estimated him at four years old. They were impressed with the sweetness of his disposition.

He's restricted to my middle floor except when I walk him out to p**p, etc. Most likely his first injection will be next week. 🙏🏻🙏🏻❤️🐾

🎉🎉🎉 Adopted! 🎉🎉🎉So, here we go again. 😞 Is anyone missing this total “Lovebug” Long Coat Tweeny from the San Antonio area? He was living in a wooded area and an Angel saw him, wrangled a trapper and last night he slept in a warm bed. 🥰.

He is a total chill package. Pays no mind to other dogs. So far, great with everyone. Doesn’t like leash walking yet but did great when they checked him for a chip and of course no chip. 🤦‍♀️. Another one that will need a lot of grooming and we need help to cover his vet bills. 🙏🏻🙏🏻

We are setting up an appointment to get a 40DX (Heartworm) test done and vaccinations as his temporary foster has other dogs. He is safe, being fed and loved on. Please help us Help this guy. BTW of course he still has his jewels. He is the spitting image of my Yoshi. ❤️

Hi All! Update on Sulli. A long time LSAR adopter is fostering our boy while he goes through his Heartworm treatment. Most of the time is spent in a kennel but he has quickly learned how to “Chill” and be a house dog. It appears he has mastered it. We will keep you posted.

🎉🎉Gemma has been Adopted! Her sister Akira is still available 🎉🎉 If you help us get the pups adopted at the SafeHaven Animal Rescue Team/LSAR Rescue Ranch we can open up space to take more Akitas in! 🙏🏻🙏🏻. We really need your help. Gemma will be 1 year old and has been with us since she was 8 weeks old. 😞. She knows her commands, walks well on a leash. She is a shepherd/akita mix.

We have adults and seniors who need families. Please help us help them. We are raising funds to update their annual vaccinations.

Hi Everyone! Sulli here. I want to thank y’all for being my guardian angels and helping finance my medical needs. Thank you to Montana White and all of the LSAR/SafeHaven Animal Rescue Team for the great care. ♥️. I know I have not been an easy patient. If you can still help with Boarding and Food costs that would go a long way. It is really expensive for the rescue.

They have so many other adult and senior akitas that need homes and help. It costs a lot to operate the Rescue Ranch. ♥️

I am nearing the end of the first month of Heartworm treatment and I had my neuter surgery and they gave me my shots. Surgery took longer and they did not want to stress me out since the worms are screaming. 😳 but my heart dhows no damage. So, my dental will have to wait til after the treatment is complete. 🙏🏻. A long time LSAR Adopter who loves Long Coat Akitas has agreed to foster me during my Heartworm treatment. He says his dogs will teach me how to be a chilled pup for the next 8 months of Heartworm treatment. ♥️. But I will be in a home. As soon as my sutures are removed, I will be transported to Houston. Anyone up for a drive? 😁. It will save on transport costs. Sorry for the delay in posting. I did not make it easy for Ms. Montana to take my picture. I am kind of naked in the back and belly and tail. 🤦‍♀️. She tried to leave some fur. 🥰

I will remain in the custody of SafeHaven Animal Rescue Team. They will be responsible for all of my medical needs til I am cleared for adoption or maybe a foster fail. 👀. Did I say that?
