Meet the 5 Under 25 Committee! ✈️

We’re excited to introduce Mason, another dedicated members behind Alpha Eta Rho’s 5 Under 25 Committee! The committee plays an important role in recognizing five outstanding collegiate aviation students under the age of 25 who are already making an impact on the future of aviation and aerospace.

Mason Andrews is an accomplished professional aviator currently serving as a pilot for Alaska Airlines on the Airbus A330. Initially hired by Hawaiian Airlines, Andrews has built a remarkably diverse and impressive flight resume early in his career.

Known globally for his record-breaking aviation achievements, Andrews made international headlines in 2018 when, at just 18 years old, he became the youngest pilot to fly solo around the world. His monumental 76-day, 180-flight-hour journey in a Piper PA-32 Lance earned a Guinness World Record and raised vital funds and awareness for MedCamps of Louisiana.

A proud alumnus of Louisiana Tech University, Andrews graduated in 2020 with a degree in professional aviation. During his collegiate years, he was an active and dedicated member of the university's Alpha Eta Rho fraternity chapter. Following graduation, he gained rigorous operational experience working as a Part 135 pilot in the challenging weather environments of Alaska. He later transitioned into corporate aviation, flying Gulfstream IVs professionally, before entering the commercial airline sector.

Today, Andrews combines his unique background in general, corporate, and commercial aviation with a deep commitment to mentorship. As an esteemed member of Alpha Eta Rho’s 5 under 25 Award Subcommittee, Mason brings an unparalleled perspective on early-career excellence, perseverance, and goal-setting. He looks forward to utilizing his diverse industry experience to help identify and honor the next generation of outstanding young aviators.
