1951 CID alumna Nancy Cripes Jordan (middle) and daughters Nanette Jordan Brimberry and Julie Jordan Newton recently stopped by CID on a girls' trip to St. Louis and Indianapolis, where Nancy attended the Terri Lee Doll Collection conference.

While at CID, the ladies toured the school and reminisced as they looked at archived photos from the 40s and 50s when Nancy and her ex-husband, Bill Jordan (1956), attended.

Thank you to Delta Dental of Missouri, which again this year provided funds to help CID school children learn about dental hygiene. Our teachers taught the relevant vocabularly first, then planned various hands-on learning activities based on the students' age and language level. Our kindergarten and early childhood center students learned about flossing and brushing their teeth from a visiting dentist.

Created by David Ritchey (CID class of 1969) and his wife and friends, the second Deafstock Music and Art Festival will be held March 18–20, 2027 in Brooksville, Florida.

More than 950 fans attended their first Deafstock in April of 2025. For three days and two nights, bands belted out hard rock, psychedelic rock, folk rock and blues, playing original songs and covers from the Summer of Love. From the music to the art installations and stagecraft, the experience felt like the 1969 Woodstock music festival, except with accessibility in every detail. “We believe everyone should be able to freely attend regardless of their physical restrictions, limitations or barriers,” Ritchey said.
