We are so grateful to our friends at The Animal Protection Network for helping to get Clover, the Hey Hey’s Patio Cat, spayed and vaccinated last month! When Clover arrived for surgery, the doctors discovered she had ovarian cysts and was actively fighting pyometra, a life-threatening infection in her uterus. If APN hadn’t stepped up when they did, Clover would not have survived another week.

Thankfully, Clover has recovered well and is back on the patio greeting patrons on a daily basis! 🍀

We are hoping to help APN recoup some of the funds they spent on Clover’s surgery, since it became much more complex and expensive. We have also asked Clover for a wish list of items to keep her comfortable, which we know she would appreciate! If you’re able to help, please use the QR codes below! 🙏

Special thanks to Shari, who fostered Clover for a week during her recovery, and to Rachael, who coordinated the surgery appt for Clover! 🐈🫶

This is our largest fundraiser of the year, which helps us support so many local organizations!

Huge THANK YOU to all of our Lions who helped make the Southend-Southside more beautiful today!

One group of volunteers was at Southeast Lions Park, planting mums and cleaning up The Carla Fountaine Pollinator Garden, in anticipation of the upcoming dedication of the garden with a permanent marker!

Another group was cleaning up litter on the far Southside with the Columbus City Council Community Engagement Team!

Join Germania and friends on a brewery bus trip next weekend!🍺

ACHTUNG! The Bavarian Box Trap has been set.

Apparently, catching a Germania member or our friends isn’t very difficult. Just prop up a box and place German b**r, sausage, pretzels and good times underneath it. Eventually, someone in Lederhosen will wander in.

And on Saturday, October 3rd — German Unity Day — we’re setting the trap for real and heading to Wooly Pig Farm Brewery!

Wooly Pig is a working Bavarian Mangalitsa pig farm and brewery in the hills outside Coshocton, specializing in traditional German-style b**r. In other words... this trip practically counts as cultural enrichment.

The bus leaves Germania at 10:45 AM and returns around 6:00 PM. We’ll have b**r, snacks and a few surprises on the bus, plus plenty more waiting for us at Wooly Pig.

Wear your Tracht, your favorite German-American gear, or whatever outfit says “I make excellent decisions when b**r and sausage are involved.”

The bus is adults only, but families are welcome to drive out and meet us at the farm.

Seats are limited — and the Bavarian Box Trap is already baited.

Einsteigen! Bier. Wurst. Freunde. Gute Laune.
