Today is the last day to sign up for Saturday’s tailgate!

TAILGATE ON SEPTEMBER 5TH!

We will hold our annual Tailgate party on Alumni Marching Band Day, Saturday Sept 5, for the Ball State game. Join us for a party and then watch over 800+ marching band alumni perform the quadruple Script Ohio!

And this year something extra special — Coach Jim Tressel being inducted into the Ohio Stadium Ring of Honor!

Our tailgate will be on the 2nd floor of the Tuttle Place parking garage from 9 am to 12 Noon. We’ll have breakfast around 9 am (eggs, sausage, muffins) and then grilling burgers, brats, and hot dogs. A variety of side dishes will be provided as well as a wide assortment of beverages.

For only $15 / person, you can enjoy all of the food and beverages you wish. This event is family-friendly — bring your kids and friends!

Game time is set for 12:30 pm -- we will close up the party at 12 Noon , so everyone can get into the stadium to see the bands. Whether or not you’re going to the game, come for the party!

Picnic with the Police - SAVE THE DATE!!

Come help us Serve Those Who Serve! On Friday, Sept. 18, our alumni club will show appreciation for the OSU Police and Public Safety Dept. by serving lunch for all the officers as well as their administrative staff. The police department is always grateful to have us return.

Join us for this fun opportunity to give back to those who serve and protect the students and staff of our great campus!

We’ll have two shifts: we need some people to help set-up and serve from 11:00 to 1:30 pm, and some people to serve and then help clean up from 1 to 3:30 pm.

Our annual community service project in cooperation with The Driven Foundation, headed by Buckeye Football alum Roy Hall, is in full swing! We've collected the school supplies and backpacks to provide for children in underprivileged areas of Columbus. Now it's time for us to help pack and deliver the backpacks to the kids before school starts!

PACKING AND DELIVERY DAY:

On Saturday August 15, we will provide volunteers to help pack the backpacks with all the supplies, and then deliver them to the children. The Driven Foundation has a very well-organized packing day – last year 500 backpacks were filled in barely an hour!

THE BACKPACK GIVEBACK RETURNS!

This summer we will once again help Driven Foundation, headed by Buckeye Football alum Roy Hall, as they collect donated school supplies and backpacks to provide for children in underprivileged areas of Columbus.

Here is a list of items that are most needed / requested:

400 Spiral Ring Notebooks (wide ruled)
800 Composition Notebooks (wide ruled)
800 “Block” Erasers (rectangle pink or white)
9,600 #2 Pencils (Not Mechanical Pencils)
400 24 Count Crayola Crayon Boxes
400 Packages of Colored Pencils
400 Loose Leaf Wide Ruled Paper
800 Glue Sticks

Additionally, if you prefer to buy items in person, you are welcome to bring them to the OSU Alumni House (Longaberger building, 2200 Olentangy River Road) during these drop off options: Weds July 22 at 5:30 at the workshop we're hosting, Weds Aug 12 at our 6 pm monthly board meeting, or drop off at the front desk during business hours (8 am to 4:30 pm Monday thru Friday) any day up until August 12.

F O O T B A L L R A F F L E !!!

The annual raffle for our Presidents Club football tickets has begun! The OSU Alumni Club of Franklin County has a pair of tickets to every home game this season, and we're making ALL of our seats available again this year in our raffle.

All money raised goes directly to our Scholarship fund to help future Buckeyes.

All home games will be up for grabs, and raffle tickets are still just $5 each, $25 for 6 tickets, or 13 tickets for $50. If your name is pulled, you have the right to purchase our club's pair of tickets for that game. These are great seats in Section 14C, ROW 2 and include seatbacks for your comfort!

The cost of the tickets varies per game, just as if you bought them anywhere else. The cost will include the season discount and the seatback and fees.

The first drawing will be in mid to late August and will include the first 4 games:

9/5 Ball State - Alumni Band Game
9/19 Kent State
9/26 Illinois
10/10 Maryland

The second drawing will be in early October and will cover the final 3 games:

11/7 Oregon
11/14 Northwestern
11/28 That Team Up North

We had a fun tour of the Schottenstein Center on Friday! Went into the locker rooms for men's and women's hoops as well as men's hockey, dressing rooms for concerts and special events, the practice gyms for both basketball teams, saw a VIP event room, and watched as workers were installing the new score board. And saw the new Jerry Lucas statue outside the Northwest entrance!

Join us for a very special behind-the-scenes tour of the Schottenstein Center, OSU's arena for basketball, hockey, concerts and other events! Our tour is scheduled for Friday afternoon, July 24, at 1:00 pm sharp.

This private tour is exclusively for members of the Franklin County OSU Alumni Club, and at a very special group rate of $10/person.

You'll get to see areas that most people would never get to see when attending events: backstage dressing rooms where hundreds of star musicians have stayed, the Huntington Club, the Block O Lounge, the Boardroom and other premium hospitality spaces, team locker room hallway and award-winning terrazzo flooring designs, and you'll get to go out onto the floor of the arena and take your picture at center court!
