Not the easiest post to make but a necessary one.
We started Recover Out Loud in 2018, and what came from it has been some of the best parts of my life.
ROL gave me my friends, my wife, my family, and memories and experiences I’ll think about on my deathbed. It’s been more than a ride, it’s been one of the greatest honors of my life.
This year marks eight years of ROL, and I know my time has passed. I want to hold on but I know we are slowing it down.
We built its foundation as a 501(c)(3) and a certified RCO, and I truly believe this was our purpose. Most founders eventually step out of the way and hand the work to someone who can carry it forward. That time has come.
My family and personal life now require more of me, and my heart is ready for this transition.
My wife and I will be stepping down from Recover Out Loud, and we have a meeting next week to begin passing the torch to new leadership.
We’re not going anywhere. We’ll still show up. We’ll still participate in prosocials and events. But we can no longer give ROL the attention it deserves as leaders.
From the bottom of my heart thank you, Recover Out Loud!!!!!
💯 Creating you was an absolute turning point in my recovery.
Here are just a few pics of the incredible journey we all had together
