Sistercare Sistercare's mission is to reduce the occurrence and impact of domestic violence in the Midlands.

We offer advocacy, support, and resources to survivors and their children across Richland, Lexington, Newberry, Kershaw, and Fairfield counties. "Reducing the occurrence and impact of domestic violence in the Midlands." That’s our mission, and we’re achieving it via direct services to survivors, teen and community education, and advocacy. Sistercare’s philosophy is to empower survivors of domestic violence and their children to live free of intimate partner violence; become educated about domestic violence; be able to make informed decisions; take responsibility for themselves and their children; and achieve self-sufficiency. This philosophy is applied by offering survivors of domestic violence and their children a range of supportive, trauma-informed services.

October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month and Sistercare turns 45! For over four decades, they have walked alongside victims and survivors, providing housing, counseling, legal aid, and more. The fight against domestic violence is one that many think they are facing alone, but Sistercare exists to change that narrative.

Join Sistercare this month as they host events to help raise awareness about domestic violence in the Midlands and fundraise to continue providing services for survivors and victims.

🏃 October 3: EmpoweRun 5K hosted by Jamie Scott Fitness Cross Hill

💜 October 5: Press Conference with Mayor Daniel Rickenmann and City of Columbia Government
