What if the most important conversation you have this year happens on a bench?

On October 8–9, Oliver Gospel will participate in Conversations on a Bench—a 24-hour initiative where ministries and organizations across North America host honest conversations about homelessness, addiction, and mental health.

Our Executive Director, Kyle Harding, will spend 24 hours sitting on a bench, engaging with neighbors, pastors, community leaders, and anyone who wants to discuss these important issues.

Back-to-school season is a little brighter when we show up for one another. 📚🎒

At the end of July, Toby’s Place hosted a special back-to-school event for families staying with them. It was an evening of practical support, community, and fun as they celebrated the start to a new school year and helped prepare students with new school supplies.

We’re so grateful for the volunteers and partners who made it possible. Thank you for showing up for our guests! 🤍

Today we celebrate 138 years of Oliver Gospel!

For 138 years, we’ve witnessed the power of hope, compassion, and community when it’s rooted in Christ’s love.

As we celebrate this milestone, we’re filled with gratitude for everyone who has been part of our story. Because of the unwavering support of our donors, volunteers, staff, and partners, countless men, women, and families have found shelter, healing, and new beginnings.

Here’s to 138 years of transforming lives across the Midlands—and to many more years to come. 💙

Today, we thank God for the blessings of freedom and pray for our nation, our neighbors, and those who faithfully serve our country.

As fireworks light up the sky and we gather with family and friends, may we remember the One who has freed us all.

👕 Help us fill our men’s clothing closet! 🧢

We are currently running low on men’s clothing and accessories and need your help to restock our closet for the men in our programs.

Donations of new or gently used clothing can make a meaningful difference for our guests. Ideas of items to donate include:

• Shirts and t-shirts
• Athletic pants, shorts, slacks, and jeans
• Light-weight jackets and raincoats
• Suits and dress clothes
• Undergarments (new only)
• Shoes
• Belts
• Hats
• Backpacks

Please consider donating, sharing this post, or encouraging others to support the Hope Center.

Together, we can ensure the men we serve have access to the clothing they need to feel confident and comfortable for job interviews, work, and everyday life.

Today marks a very important day in our nation’s history—the end of slavery. As you go throughout the day, we encourage you to take time to celebrate, learn about the ongoing pursuit of justice and equality in our world, and reflect on the eternal freedom found in Christ.

In observance of Juneteenth, Oliver Gospel’s social enterprises will be closed: Oliver Gospel Roastery, Oliver Gospel Thrift Store, and the Hope Center. Regular operations will resume on Saturday, June 20.
