Here is another fun activity for local kids! Our friends at Cane Valley Christian Church are hosting a community birthday party for kids in grades K-5 Saturday September 12, 11:00 - 1:30! This will include games, birthday gifts for each child, and ice cream & cake! They have space for a few more kids, you can sign up here to let them know your child will be participating! Update 09/01/26: We had a lot of sign ups overnight. There are only about 5 literacy spots left and 15 theatre spots!

We are so excited to share that we are partnering with Columbia Baptist Church to offer after school programming! We are starting with literacy for older elementary, middle, or even high school students that may still struggle a bit and need some extra help! (10-15 kids for this) We are also offering theatre and plan to do a production of The Best Christmas Pageant Ever! We will need 30-40 young people ages 6-18 for this. It will include extras, people to help with props, technology, as well as actors! We want to invite public, private, and homeschool young people to join us in this endeavor! We are hoping to add more options later! Please share!

Thank you Adair County for your donations to the Feeding America Holiday boxes! We ordered 395 boxes! Almost 200 for Thanksgiving and 200 for Christmas. Thank you so much for helping us serve our community through the holidays. We appreciate you! ❤️

We will be taking donations for 6 more days for our Holiday (Thanksgiving & Christmas) boxes for Adair County families! Thanks and please share!

It is Feeding America Holiday Box time! Last year our community supplied 300 boxes for families for Thanksgiving & Christmas meals! (Plus turkeys, rolls, and a desert for each box). This year’s deadline is August 26 for all churches, businesses, organizations, and individuals that would like to help! Melinda Maher also served with us this summer through her Human Service & Counseling Practicum at LWU. She got to experience serving alongside all of our mission week youth! This was her third practicum with us so she was already part of our JOY family! Melinda is such a hard worker and so much fun to work with! Thank you for your service Melinda! ♥️

Emmalee Miller is a Senior Lindsey Wilson Elementary Education major from Louisville. She worked with us as a Bonner intern this summer. She is an excellent worker with a huge heart for people! We have loved having her with us this summer. We can’t wait to see how awesome she’s going to be in the classroom. We are also so very thankful for our partnership with LWU Bonner Scholars! ❤️
