As First Tee Week comes to a close, we simply want to say one thing: thank you. 💙⛳

To every coach, volunteer, and mentor who gives their time, energy, patience, and heart to our participants — thank you for being game changers.

This week reminded us that the impact of a coach goes far beyond golf. The handwritten notes, smiles, memories, and moments shared by our participants show just how meaningful your encouragement and support truly are.

You help build confidence.
You create belonging.
You inspire resilience.
And you help shape young people into incredible future leaders.

At First Tee, golf is just the beginning — and none of it would be possible without the adults who choose to show up for our kids day after day.

At First Tee Southern Colorado, we provide year-round programming across El Paso, Pueblo, and Fremont County — and we’re always looking for more caring adults to help us impact the next generation.

You don’t have to be a professional golfer to make a difference. Sometimes the biggest impact comes from simply showing up, encouraging a participant, helping during activities, or being another positive role model in a young person’s life.

Every additional volunteer helps us:

At First Tee, our coaches are so much more than golf instructors. They are mentors, role models, and trusted adults who help young people grow in confidence, resilience, and character every single day.

One of the most important ways we create meaningful impact is by keeping our participant-to-coach ratio small — ideally 1 coach for every 5 participants. This helps us maintain a safe environment while also allowing each child to truly be seen, encouraged, and supported.

When group sizes stay small, relationships grow bigger.
Conversations become more meaningful.
Mentorship becomes more personal.
And every participant who walks through our doors feels like they belong.

Coach Jeff has more energy than the entire room put together, and his positivity is absolutely contagious. He has a way of lifting everyone around him up, making kids, families, and fellow coaches all want to be better people simply by being themselves.
