✨ MONDAY MAGIC ✨
123 meals.
24 haircuts.
3 bikes repaired.
The numbers are never really the point. ❀️
The point is the conversations. The laughs. The people who stop by just to say hi. The neighbor who gets a haircut and walks away feeling a little better about themselves. The person whose bike is working again so they can get where they need to go.
It’s the little moments that happen when we show up consistently.
Every Monday, our volunteers, barbers, bike crew, food partners, and everyone behind the scenes help make this happen. And I am so grateful for every single person who chooses to show up for our neighbors.
Because this is what FTAH is really about.
Not just feeding people. Not just providing services. Building relationships, building trust, and reminding our neighbors that they matter.
That’s Monday Magic.
And we’ll be back next Monday to do it all over again.
Thank you to Gyro DΓΆner for making sure our neighbors bellies were full!
Thank you to our amazing volunteers Staci, Karen, Matt, Cody Dylan, Arthur, Maria, Dori, Megan, Emily, Rick, Jill, Lauralee, Dylan, and Koby. You are the best in the world!
Thank you to our partnership with Broken Crayons Beauty, Nonprofit and Serving Hope. I can't do this work without you!! You are truly a treasure to me and FTAH!

MONDAY MAGIC

160 meals.
23 fresh haircuts.

These are 160 moments where someone had a hot meal, a little connection, and a reminder that their community hasn’t forgotten them.
And 23 neighbors who got to sit in a chair, get cleaned up, feel good about themselves, and walk away feeling a little more confident.

This is why we do what we do.

Not just to hand out resources, but to build relationships. To create choices. To listen. To notice. To show up when someone needs us.

Huge thank you to Crepes-N-Go for consistently showing up for our neighbors and making sure every meal you provide is made with the same quality, care, and love you’d serve to any paying customer.

Huge thank you to our incredible barbers for showing up, giving our neighbors more than just a fresh haircut, and making sure every person leaves that chair feeling seen, valued, and a little more confident. Broken Crayons Beauty, Nonprofit, Chase, Staci and Dylan!

The best volunteers in the city, thank you!!!! Rick, Jill, Karen, Amy, Noodley, Robert and Paige.

Thank you to Serving Hope for your support and friendship!

We've got a $5 Josh & John's gift card on the line and all you have to do is guess correctly!

If you know me and know where I was, you are not allowed to guess.

Here's your riddle:

I sipped something wild at a place full of thrills,

Where funnel cakes float and the midway fulfills,

A legend took the stage, word to your mother,

And Mad Dog 20/20 never tasted better.

Where was I?

Drop your answer in the comments below β€” first person to guess correctly wins a $5 Josh & John's gift card!

And after drinking the pineapple 20/20, I may have go old school.

πŸ’› Today we pause. Today we remember. Today we honor. πŸ’›
25 years ago our world changed in a moment that none of us will ever forget. And today β€” September 11th β€” we hold space for every single person whose life was touched by that day. Because the ripple of that morning reached further than any of us could have ever imagined.

We honor the first responders who ran toward the unimaginable without hesitation. The firefighters, the police officers, the paramedics, the everyday people who became heroes in the most devastating of moments. Your courage will never be forgotten.

We honor the families of those first responders β€” who watched their loved ones run in and waited, and waited, and for some of you β€” they never came home.

We honor those who lost their lives that day. Every single one of them. Gone too soon, loved beyond measure, and never ever forgotten.

We honor the families left behind. The ones who have spent twenty four years learning how to live with a loss that never fully heals. Your grief is valid. Your love for them lives on.

We honor those who survived β€” because survival comes with its own weight. The images, the sounds, the memories that don't just go away. Your strength is extraordinary.

We honor those who developed illnesses in the days, months, and years that followed β€” the ones who breathed in that air and paid for it with their health and ultimately their lives. Your sacrifice was real and it mattered.

We honor their families too β€” the ones who cared for them, fought for them, and lost them slowly in the years that followed.
And today we also hold space for something that doesn't get talked about enough.

We honor those who carry the burden of judgment β€” the family members and loved ones of those whose actions that day changed the world. The ones who had no part in what happened but have spent 25 years living in the shadow of it. You did not choose this. You do not deserve the weight of it. And your pain is real too.

Today is not about politics. It is not about blame. It is not about who believes what or who disagrees with the narrative.

Today is about people. Every single person whose life was forever changed on September 11th 2001 β€” and every person who has been carrying that weight ever since.

We see you. We honor you. We will never forget. πŸ’›
