Rahim is the youngest of three, and his parents made one bold move for their family: they left their rural home believing education could change everything.

At first, school wasn’t consistent for the older kids. But Rahim’s journey started differently.

At the Beacon Learning Center, he learned something simple but life-changing: show up every day. With steady support from teachers, that habit stuck. Now, he attends school regularly, completes his homework independently, and dreams of becoming a teacher.

Behind his progress is a family that refuses to give up. His father works seven days a week to provide for his family. His mother not only supports Rahim but also encourages other families in her community to value education too.

Three-year-old Kahil once struggled to speak, barely able to get a full sentence out. His family lives in a small tin home in a Mumbai slum, where flooding and daily challenges make life uncertain.

Kahil stayed quiet and withdrawn, and his mom didn’t know how to help. But everything changed when he was enrolled in a Vision Rescue Beacon Learning Center.

With patient teachers and a safe place to learn, Kahil slowly found his voice.

Today, he speaks confidently and proudly says, “I want to be a soldier to protect everyone.”

Every morning, six-year-old Aakesh* stood behind a thin curtain, watching other children head to school, wondering what it would be like to go.

His family had come to Mumbai in search of opportunity, but instead found daily struggle. With three children and one income, school simply wasn’t possible.

Until a door opened.

In June 2024, a Vision Rescue Community Champion connected Aakesh’s family to a Beacon Learning Center (BLC). Slowly, he found his place, quiet but curious, with a spark that couldn’t be missed.

His mother found hope, too, completing a tailoring course and now sewing clothes for her children.

Today, Aakesh is no longer watching from the sidelines. He’s learning, growing, and dreaming of becoming a police officer.

Her family migrated from a village in Uttar Pradesh, hoping for a better life. Instead, they faced hardship. After her father’s knee surgery slowed his work as a daily wage carpenter, his steady income became uncertain. Providing even basic needs was a struggle.

When Kanza’s mother heard about Vision Rescue’s Beacon Learning Center, she enrolled her in June 2024. There, Kanza receives nutritious meals, an education kit, and regular health checkups — support her parents once thought was out of reach.

Now, she comes home smiling. “She tells me she wants to become a police officer,” her mother shares proudly.

Because of you, Kanza has more than an education. She has hope.
