To my husband: Fifty looks good on you. 🤠
We celebrated Justin the way he loves best — boots on dirt floors, the smell of barbecue in the air, horses in the stalls, and country music playing while we danced under the lights. His brother, our kids, and dear friends circled up around him, and it felt right. This is his world. These are his people.
When we toasted him, I shared something I prayed long before I ever knew his name. In my years of waiting, I would ask the Lord, “Give me Your best.” Not what I could manufacture. Not what looked impressive. Your best.
And with Justin, God answered that prayer.
“The righteous man walks in his integrity; blessed are his children after him.” — Proverbs 20:7
That’s the man he is. A man of wisdom. A man who fears the Lord. The same in private as he is in public.
What undid me most was hearing both boys say that because of the way their dad has loved, led, and shown up for them, they can see God more clearly and know Him as Father. There is no greater legacy than that.
And what I love most is that he embodies both godliness and joy. Deep faith and a playful spirit. He loves Jesus wholeheartedly — and he also loves to laugh loud, ride horses, sing country songs, and squeeze every ounce of life out of a Saturday night.
Strong and steady. Fun and faithful.
It is an honor to be your wife. Happy 50th, my love. The Lord has been so kind to me through you. 🤍
