Shoe Drive in Memory of Jason Wright benefiting College Station ISD Chrissy's Closet & the CSISD Education Foundation. Jason also loved shoes!

Jason was a graduate of A&M Consolidated High School Class of 2017. He loved shoes & the kids and staff at AMC. Jason Wright was the oldest son of Eric and Wendy Williams. He attended school at Cypress Grove Intermediate then went to A&M Consolidated Middle School, where he learned to love football. At A&M Consolidated High School, he played football and enjoyed track. Playing basketball with his

friends was another way he loved to have fun. Jason was taken from this world unexpectedly in August 2018. To honor his memory during his birthday month of July, his family is hosting a shoe drive to benefit Chrissy's Closet and the CSISD Education Foundation. Jason loved his time in school at CSISD and we know his family would love to make sure that every student starts the school year off on the right foot with one of his favorite things: a brand new pair of kicks. All sizes of shoes from toddler to adult are needed and can be dropped off anytime during the month of July at Elms Orthodontics, Daniel Stark Law Firm, or Living Hope Church College Station. and designate your gift to benefit "Chrissy's Closet" in memory of Jason Wright. Chrissy's Closet is a FREE store for CSISD students, staff & their families to obtain new/gently used clothes, shoes, underwear, socks, coats, and personal hygiene items. Our goal is to help students and their families to feel positively about themselves, CSISD and attending school by providing access to items needed to arrive at school clean, warm, and ready to learn.

It’s time to get some kicks for kids!
This year we have needed to make some changes to shoe collections but we still have the same mission: getting new shoes on the feet of all the kiddos in CSISD in memory of Jason Wright!
There are a few ways to do this.

THANK YOU for supporting ! Thank you for your generosity and desire to help every kid have a new pair of great fitting “kicks” to start out the school year! Thank you for honoring the memory of our son, Jason, in such a special way. He would have loved this! The community, friends, family, and even people from other cities have donated 138 new pairs of shoes, and raised $2695.00 to the Education Foundation for Chrissy’s Closet.

We’re 3 days away from wrapping up . Would you consider donating $22 to ? Why 22? Jason would have turned 22 years old this month and I’m certain he would have celebrated with some new “kicks!” Not only that, but he would have jumped at the chance to gift some to someone else. School is right around the corner and we’d love to help Chrissy’s Closet prepare for the “Back to School Bash.” You can donate by going to the College Station Education Foundation website and click “Donate.” Then designate Chrissy’s Closet in memory of Jason Wright.

Did you know that a majority of kids wear shoes that are too small?
According to a study presented to the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, at least 90% of shoes worn by children were too small. This can lead to foot problems and pain.
On a side note- this can be very distracting to learning!
What can you do?
1. Measure a child’s feet every time they get a pair of shoes.
2. Don’t just look at the number on the shoe- measure the actual size and compare to the foot size.
3. Check your child’s shoes often. Children often outgrow shoes before they wear out.
*To help every child start out the year with a new pair of shoes that fit, we encourage you to pick up a pair of shoes for and drop at one of our three locations. Or you can donate through directly to Chrissy’s Closet in memory of Jason Wright. .cs
