In just 8 days, we will officially find out which WETATi Academy YoungPreneur Student Nationals finalists will win 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place in their respective categories for our 2025-2026 SY Annual WETATi Academy National Dureke Business iDEA Pitch Competition. 💜💙💛

Please join us on Saturday, September 12th, 2026, as our 2025-2026 SY WETATi Academy National Entrepreneurship Convention commences for our 14th Annual WETATi Academy-Anne Reese Carswell Scholarship & Awards Gala. The event will take place at the Adele H. Stamp Union Grand Ballroom, University of Maryland College Park, in partnership with Nyumburu Cultural Center.

Doors will open at 5:30 PM for our WETATiwood RedCarpet Experience, and the program will begin promptly at 6:00 PM. We will conclude the evening by dancing the night away to Afrobeats until 10:30 PM.

Welcome back to school, WETATians! 💜💙💛

We are in need of your support for our WETATi Academy Practical Entrepreneurship Education Program for the 2026-2027 school year. We are asking for donations from our Amazon Practical Entrepreneurship Education Wishlist, which will provide essential supplies for our WETATi Academy YoungPreneurs students and community programs.

As WETATi Academy's Chief Operating Officer and an in-school program facilitator, I can assure you that these supplies help our students in many ways. For example, we create folder packets for each student containing documents like the WETATi Academy Budget Diary—part of our Financial Literacy program where students learn to log transactions like a banking statement. They also receive a Ziploc bag to store their "WETATi Money," which they earn through attendance, participation, and surveys, and can later redeem for items during our WETATi Academy Learn and Shop Day. This process hands-on teaches the responsibility and accountability central to our program.

By the time WETATi Academy YoungPreneurs Students and Co-Founders of M & D Crafted Clay, Mercy Fabiyi and Drue Dixon, walked off the stage after their 2025-2026 SY Annual WETATi Academy National Dureke Business iDEA Pitch Competition presentation on June 6th, 2026, 700 orders of their product, Worry Stones, were already placed by Inga S. Adams. 💜💙💛

When Inga S. Adams, a WETATi Academy 2025-2026 SY Board member and Judge, heard Mercy and Drue's business idea and sampled their product, she knew she had to invest and knew exactly who would need it.

Like a true WETATian, Ms. Adams placed an order for 700 Worry Stones for the First Baptist Church of Glenarden summer camp program. This order enabled the girls to earn thousands of dollars and secure their first major contract from their WETATi Academy iDEA Lab business, M & D Crafted Clay.

This was the first time Mercy Fabiyi and Drue Dixon needed to create an invoice, so WETATi Academy staff happily stepped in and helped the young ladies create and submit their first M & D Crafted Clay invoice to their first major client.
