We had a wonderful time exploring the world of seafood during our four-week class series! From economical, everyday options to dishes with a more luxurious flair, participants discovered just how versatile and delicious seafood can be.

We also went beyond the plate, learning about the nutrients seafood provides, how to select and handle fish safely, and the important role Florida and the U.S. fisheries industry play in bringing seafood to our tables.

Seafood can be a nutritious addition to your weekly meals, providing high-quality protein, omega-3 fatty acids, vitamins, and minerals. Our goal was to build confidence, expand seafood choices, and show that enjoying seafood doesn't have to be complicated or expensive!

The Florida Master Gardener Volunteer Program relies on trained and dedicated volunteers interested in gardening and giving back to their communities. have the opportunity to host plant clinics at their local libraries, tend to the Brevard Discovery Garden, perform site visits to help their fellow community members, and more. If this sounds like something you would be interested in, consider signing up for our next Master Gardener class!
