Just after sunrise, Station 2 crew assisted in Eastpointe on autoaid. Upon arrival, St. Clair Shores FD was tasked with vertical ventilation while Eastpointe made an interior attack. No injuries were reported. Thanks to Charrette Fire Photography for helping document this fire.

Today, we pause to remember and honor the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country.
From every branch of the United States Armed Forces — thank you to those who served and never made it home. We will never forget your sacrifice. 🇺🇸

Today was also a reminder of how special the St. Clair Shores Fire Department family truly is. Thank you to all of our families, friends, and supporters who came out to the Memorial Day Parade and spent the day with us. The long hours, missed holidays, and time away from home are only possible because of the support system standing behind us every day. ♥️ 🚒

🚤⚓Get ready for boating season!

The Macomb County Sheriff’s Office Marine Division will be hosting a FREE Boater Safety Course alongside the St. Clair Shores Firefighters at the new Central Fire Station!

🕔 5:00 PM – 9:00 PM

🛟 Did you know?
• Anyone born after December 31, 1978 must have a Boater Safety Certificate to legally operate a personal watercraft (Jet Ski).
• Anyone born after July 1, 1996 must have a Boater Safety Certificate to operate a boat in Michigan.

This is a two-day course, and attendance on both nights is required to receive your Boater Safety Certificate.

Whether you’re new to boating, operating a jet ski, or just want your certification before summer gets busy on Lake St. Clair, this is a great opportunity to learn safe boating practices from local public safety professionals.

Yesterday, along with the normal call volume and heat, crews had a dog rescue and garage fire occur. The 4-legged friend in question decided to dig under the new deck the homeowner installed but didn’t want to come back out. Thankfully, as crews began removing a plank, the noise was enough to convince fido that it was time to get out. 🐕

After that incident, a garage occurred in the south end of the city on Ridgeway. Luckily, crews spotted the column of smoke from the station before a call was placed. No injuries were reported and crews were able to keep the fire from spreading into the home.

🚨 IT’S OFFICIAL! 🚨

We never thought we’d see the day, but Central Fire Station 1 is officially open and operational!

It’s been a long week, but today our department took part in an opening ceremony and raising of the American flag, now flying high in front of the station. 🇺🇸 We’re excited to begin this new chapter for both our department and our city.

Most importantly, we are excited to reunite Battalion Chief 1, Quint 1, and Squad 1 crews back together under the same roof once again to ensure a more efficient and effective response.

Here’s to the future of Station 1 and the continued service to our community. 🚒

Today our department swore in our newest Probationary Firefighter, Nicholas McGee. McGee will now start a one year process where he will work closely with our crew members to understand what it means to be a firefighter for the City of St Clair Shores.

Some traditions never die. The newest probie got the full “Welcome to the Firehouse” experience at New Central, courtesy of a rooftop cold water shower from above. Safe to say his rookie year officially started with a splash.
