We're still looking for mentors, and we need YOU. 🙏🏾

It's one thing to talk about how our children need help. It's another thing to show up for them. True2U gives everyday people like you a structured pathway to do exactly that.

True2U, a program of the Neighborhood Leadership Institute, is a volunteer mentoring program that helps 8th graders in the Cleveland Metropolitan School District prepare to make the most of high school, as a step on their pathway to career readiness.

You don't need to be a teacher or an expert. You just need to care. Here's how it works:

✅ You're paired with another mentor to lead fun, interactive sessions with a class of 8th-grade scholars
✅ Sessions happen once a month, October through April
✅ About 4–5 hours a month, including a 2-hour in-school session plus training and prep
✅ We provide the curriculum and training, so you just bring yourself

Our young people are counting on us. Please, if you've ever wanted to make a real difference, this is your moment. Invest in our young people. Mentors must be 18 or older.

We're looking for 50 additional True2U mentors for the 2026/2027 school year. Will you join us?

True2U mentors are matched with a CMSD eighth-grade class and meet with scholars once a month during the school day from October through April. No teaching or mentoring experience is required; we provide the training, curriculum, and ongoing support you need to make a difference.

Mentor Orientation begins in late September, and in-school sessions begin in October.

We have another canvassing opportunity for you in Mt. Pleasant!:
Saturday September 12, 2026 9:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.

Participants should plan to arrive 30 minutes before we start. T-shirt and stipend provided. We need 10 canvassers for each date.

We'll meet at the Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church Parking Lot (13009 Kinsman Rd.) and will cover Kinsman & MLK to East 154th & Kinsman.
