CLE Pups An initiative to help all dogs in Cleveland find loving homes and the care they need. Welcome to CLE Pups! We are glad you are here.

This is a volunteer effort run by residents and supported by Northwest Neighborhoods. Our goals are to increase the live release rate from the Cleveland Kennel by:

- Increasing the number of families reunited with their lost dogs.
- Increasing the number of dogs adopted from the Cleveland Kennel.
- Supporting partnering rescues and shelters so that they can pull more dogs from the Cleveland Ken

nel.
- Provide information about resources to community members who own pets and are struggling to care for them.
- Educate the public about the needs at the Cleveland Kennel. We know that our community is creative, compassionate and resourceful. The intention is to present information promptly and truthfully so that solutions can be found quickly and implemented efficiently. This page is not affiliated with staff or volunteers at the Cleveland Kennel or the City of Cleveland. It is a citizen-led volunteer initiative.

HELP IS NEEDED NOW! The Cleveland Kennel is full. Pups need to be picked up by their owners immediately. When the kennel is full, good, adoptable, healthy dogs loose their lives because there isn't space to hold them. They are legally required to hold all new intake for their stray hold in hopes that owners come and pick them up.

Not everyone is on social media, so you can also let anyone who has lost a pet to know they can check out www.clepups.com or visit the Cleveland Kennel to look for their missing dog.
These pups NEED TO GO BACK TO THEIR FAMILIES!

Space is limited. Adopters and rescue pulls are needed now.
Please share so that their families see this and reclaim them immediately. When the shelter is full, as it has been, and large numbers of dogs are impounded, lives are lost to make room for new intakes when owners don't come to claim them the adoption rates are slow.

Check out this small selection of the WIDE RANGE of pups available for adoption at the Cleveland Kennel right now! There are still over 100 dogs and puppies available for adoption. Clear the Shelters was amazing last weekend, the shelter is far from empty.

๐Ÿค” Considering adding a dog to your family, but not looking for the exuberance and energy of a puppy? Maybe you already have a middle-aged or older dog and you donโ€™t want to overwhelm them with puppy energy.

๐Ÿ• ๐Ÿ• ๐Ÿ• ๐Ÿ• ๐Ÿ• ๐Ÿ• ๐Ÿ• ๐Ÿ• ๐Ÿ• ๐Ÿ• ๐Ÿ• ๐Ÿ• ๐Ÿ• The Cleveland Kennel has a bakers dozen, YES 13, dogs ages 5 to 12 that are looking for forever families. Dogs this age donโ€™t deserve to be without forever families to grow old (or older) with. A few of these pups are in foster homes (huge thank you to fosters), but a loud shelter in absolutely nowhere for an older dog to have to live in.

๐Ÿ† With nearly 100 dogs and puppies available for adoption (and more added daily) the Cleveland Kennel/Cleveland Animal Care and Control/City Dogs Cleveland has accepted the Clear the Shelters challenge! They are competing against the Cleveland APL and Cuyahoga County Shelter.

๐Ÿถ $21 adoptions this weekend starting today (Friday, August 14)! Every adopted pooch is heartworm tested, microchipped, up to date on vaccines, on heartworm/flea/tick preventative, fixed and comes with a collar, county license and lifetime of love!

This is not the typical post we make, but we always say that helping people is helping pets and now itโ€™s time for us to help people who help pets.

A Cleveland neighbor who has adopted from the Cleveland Kennel has just lost everything including her cats and dogs in a devastating house fire. She has to jump out of a second story window to save herself and was hospitalized.

We canโ€™t imagine the heartbreak of losing pets in this way, but we want to do what we can to help her rebuild. Please consider donating to her Go Fund Me set up by her Councilman, and a few other folks.
