Good gear helps a lot while out on the water! We compiled recommendations from NCWSA members on what gear they like best! Huge thanks to everyone who shared their favorites.

Memorial Day Weekend is also great time to stock up with big sales from faves like Helly Hansen.

⚓️ May Events ⚓️

It may have ❄️ snowed ❄️ last night, but the 2026 season is so close we can taste it! May is packed with events to get our members ready for an incredible summer on the water. Save the dates for these upcoming events, registration links will be shared soon.

Returning NCWSA Sailors: Once you complete registration for this season, it’s time to start preparing to get out on the water! We’re excited to host a Back to Basics course for RETURNING NCWSA members next Tuesday to knock some of the rust off!

New members, don’t fret - your orientation will take place on May 12th and cover everything you need to know. Stay tuned for more info!

Interested in joining NCWSA for the 2026 season? Join us Tuesday, April 7th for our 2026 Season Kick Off Meeting! Mix and mingle with members, hear what’s in store for the season, and learn how to register. Anyone interested in joining us this year is encouraged to attend. Food and drink will be available for purchase.

As our fleet continues to grow, we are excited to share that we now have an official Boat Owner Application Form in place on our website. This form will help us:
⛵️ Better understand boat availability and specifications
👯‍♀️ Ensure proper alignment with fleet needs
🛟 Maintain safety and consistency across the program
📩 Streamline communication between boat owners and race leadership

💕Important Galentine’s Day update!💕

We have a NEW LOCATION for our Galentine’s Get Together next week! Please still join us next Tuesday, February 17th from 6:30-8:30 but we’re taking the party over to Pins Mechanical 1880 W 25th St in Ohio City. There will be a cash bar and duckpin bowling available for purchase along with free arcade games.

It may be the off-season, but it’s a great time to better your understanding of the rules of racing. Join us for our first webinar series!

Introduction to The Racing Rules of Sailing | 3-Part Zoom Webinar Series

This seminar is open to all members, coaches, and boat owners. We strongly recommend this for all Prep racers, all intermediate racers, and any racer who wants a basic rules review.

Join us as US Sailing Club Judge Mary Cay Tylee walks through the 2025–2028 Racing Rules of Sailing.
