Join your Greater Cleveland AAZK Chapter September 18 at The BottleHouse Cleveland Heights for Save the Silverbacks, a fun trivia fundraiser supporting gorilla conservation.

From 4 p.m. to midnight, 10% of food and drink sales will benefit the AZA SAFE Gorilla program, with trivia, raffle baskets, a 50/50 drawing, and prizes throughout the evening.

Your support helps protect endangered gorillas through anti-poaching efforts, habitat monitoring, community projects, and more — directly benefiting Grauer’s gorillas in the Democratic Republic of the Congo and critically endangered Cross River gorillas in Cameroon and Nigeria.

Just when we thought this cub couldn't get any cuter... 🥹

Many of you have noticed our Amur leopard cub’s adorable white toes! 🐾 Fun fact: the cub inherited this unique trait from dad, Sylas, who inherited it from his mother. It's a small but meaningful reminder of the collaborative work accredited zoos are doing to maintain healthy, genetically diverse populations of this critically endangered species.

Zoo News 2.0 arrives next week!

Ambassador animals play a critical role in our education and outreach programs, and yet many guests have never seen these species. Built in 2022, the Don and Sally Messinger Nature Innovation Station not only provides a naturalistic space with better enrichment opportunities for the animals, but, just as importantly, it allows Zoo guests to see these animals that were previously housed behind the scenes.

In this month's Zoo News 2.0 video, we visit with Animal Keeper Adriana and meet the current and retired ambassador animals living in this habitat in Australian Adventure.

🛠️🌳 It's still a work in progress, but the Michael Talty and Helen Talty Charitable Trust Learning Gallery is really starting to take shape!

It's International Orangutan Day! As we watch the new, outdoor orangutan habitat take shape at your Zoo, we are also reflecting on the incredible work being done to protect these critically endangered great apes in the wild.

For over two decades, the Zoo has supported HUTAN, an organization protecting orangutans in Kinabatangan, Borneo through community-driven strategies. A portion of your Zoo membership directly supports these efforts!
