While we are a "Greek Catholic" church, this means that our liturgical life follows the Byzantine tradition, which means we use Greek in our liturgy (mostly our music, which follows from the ancient Psaltic "Greek chant"), and we hold many other things in common with our Greek Orthodox brothers, but our church has been more specifically carried by descendants of Near Eastern countries like Palestine, Syria, Lebanon, and Jordan. So we are not culturally "Greek," but more specially Greek Catholic. But we are most certainly and whole-heartedly Catholic, and we welcome all into our home! God bless you!

EPISTLE: of Saint Luke Colossians 4:5-11 & 14-18

BRETHREN, walk in wisdom as regards outsiders, making the most of your time. Let your speech, while always attractive; be seasoned with salt, so that you know how to answer each one. Tychicus, our dearest brother and faithful minister and fellow-servant in the Lord will tell you all about me: I have sent him to you for this very purpose, so that he may find out how you are doing and comfort your hearts. With him is Onesimus, our most dear and faithful brother, who is one of you. They will tell you all that is going on here.
Aristarchus, my fellow-prisoner, sends you greetings. So does Mark, Barnabas’ cousin — concerning whom you have received instructions: if he comes to you, welcome him — and Jesus who is called Justus. From among circumcised men, these only are my fellow-workers in God’s kingdom: they have been a comfort to me.
Luke, our most dear physician, and Demas send you their greetings. Greetings to the brethren who arc in Laodicea and to Nymphas and the church in his home. And when this letter will have been read among you, see that it is read in the churches of the Laodiceans also, and that you yourselves read the letter from Laodicea. And say to Archippus, “Take care of the ministry you have received in the Lord, so that you fulfill it.” I, Paul, greet you in my own hand. Remember my chains. Grace be with you. Amen.

GOSPEL: Luke 10:16-21 - Gospel of Saint Luke

The Lord said to His disciples, “He who hears you, hears Me; and he who rejects you, rejects Me; and he who rejects Me, rejects Him Who sent Me.” Now the seventy returned with joy, saying, “Lord even the devils are subject to us in Your name.” But He said to them, “I was watching Satan fall as lightning from heaven. Behold, I have given you power to tread upon serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy; and nothing shall hurt you. Yet, do not rejoice in this, that the spirits are subject to you; but rejoice in this, that your names are written in heaven.” In that very hour Jesus rejoiced in the Holy Spirit and said, “I praise You, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that You did hide these things from the wise and prudent, and did reveal them to little ones. Yes, Father, for such was Your good pleasure.”

فصل من رسالةِ القدّيسِ بُولسَ الرَّسولِ الى أهلِ كُولُسِّي 4:5-11 & 14-18

يا إخوَة. أُسلُكُوا بٍحكمةٍ من جِهَةِ الَّذينَ في الخارج. مُفتَدِينَ الوقت. ليكنْ كَلامُكم ذا لُطفٍ كلَّ حينٍ مُصلَحاً بمِلّح. لكي تعلمُوا كيفَ ينبغي لكُم أَن تُجاوِبوا كلَّ أَحد* وعَن أَحوالي كُلها سيُخبركُم تيخيكُسُ الأَخُ الحبيبُ والخادمُ الأمين. الذي هوَ عبدٌ معي في الرَّبّ* الذي أَرسلتُهُ إليكُم لهذا بعينه. ليعرِفَ أَحوالكُم ويُعزِيَ قُلوبكُم* مع أُونسيمُوسَ الأخِ الامينِ الحَبيب الذي هوَ منكُم. فَهُما يخُبرانكُم بجَميعِ ما وقعَ هُنا* يُسلَمُ عليكم أَرِستَرخُسُ الأَسيرُ مَعي. ومَرقُسُ نَسيبُ بَرنابا الذي أَخذتُم في حقَّهِ وصايات. فإِذا قَدِمَ إِليكُم فاقبَلوه* ويَسوعُ المُلقَّبُ بِيُسْتُس. الَّذينَ هُم من أَهلِ الخِتان. وهُم وَحدَهُم مُعاوِنُونَ لي في أَمرِ ملكُوتِ الله. وقد كانوا لي تعزيَة* يُسلمُ علَيكُم لُوقا الطَّبيبُ الحبيبُ وديماس* سلِّموا على الإخوةِ الذين في اللاذِقَّية. وعلى نمفاسَ والكنيسةِ التي في بيتهِ* وبَعدَ تِلاوَةَ الرِّسالةِ عِندكُمُ أعتَوُا بأَنْ تُتلى في كنيسةِ اللاَّذِقيينَ أَيضاً. وأَن تَتْلُوا أَنتُم تِلكَ التي منَ اللاذِقَّية* وقُولوا لأَوِخبُّس. تَأَمَّلِ الخِدمَةَ التي تَسَلَّمتَها في الربِّ حتى تُتمَّها* السَّلامُ بخَطِّ يَدِي أَنا بُولُس. أُذكُرُوا قُيُودي. النِعمَةُ معَكُم. آمين*

الانجيل – لوقا 10: 16-21

قالَ الربُّ لتلاميذه: من سمعَ منكم فقد سمعَ مني. ومَن نَبذكم فقد نَبذَني. ومَن نبذَني فقد نبذَ الذي أَرسلني. ورجعَ السبعونَ بفرحٍ قائلينَ: يا ربُّ ان الشياطينَ ايضاً تخضعُ لنا باسمكَ. فقال لهم: رأيتُ الشيطانَ ساقطاً من السماءِ كالبرق. وها أَنا ذا أُعطيكم سلطاناً ان تدوسوا الحيَاتِ والعقاربَ وقوَّةَ العدوّ كلَّها، وليس شيءٌ يَضرُّكم. ولكن لا تفرحوا أَنَّ الارواحَ تخضعُ لكم، بل بالأحرى أفرحوا بأَنَّ أَسماءُكم مكتوبةٌ في السماوات. في تلك الساعةِ تهلَّلَ يسوعُ بالروحِ وقال: أَعترفُ لكَ ايها الآبُ ربُّ السماواتِ والارض، لأنك أَخفيتَ هذه عن الحكماء والعقلاء، وكشفتَها للأطفال. نعم ايها الآبُ، لأنه هكذا حَسُنَ لديك.

EPISTLE: Titus 3:8-15

My son Titus, this saying is true, and in this matter I want to insist that those who believe in God be careful to excel in good works: these are good and useful to people. But avoid foolish controversies and genealogies and quarrels, and disputes about the Law, for they are useless and futile.
Avoid a factious man after warning him once or twice, knowing that such a man is perverted and sins, since he is condemning himself.
When I send Artemas or Tychicus to you, make every effort to meet me at Nicopolis, for I have decided to spend the winter there. Help Zenas the lawyer and Apollos on their way, taking care that they lack nothing. And let our people also learn to excel in good works, in order to help cases of urgent need so that they may not be unfruitful. All my companions greet you. Greet those who love us in the faith. The grace of God be with all of you. Amen.

GOSPEL: Luke 8:5-15 - 4th Sunday after the Holy Cross

The Lord told this parable: “The Sower went out to sow his seed. And as he sowed, some seed fell by the wayside and was trodden under foot, and the birds of the air ate it up. And other seed fell upon the rock, and as soon as it had sprung up it withered away, because it had no moisture. And other seed fell among thorns, and the thorns sprang up with it and choked it. And other seed fell upon good ground, and sprang up and yielded fruit a hundred-fold.” As he said these things he cried out, “He who has ears to hear, let him hear!” But his disciples then began to ask him what this parable meant. He said to them, “To you it is given to know the mystery of the kingdom of God, but to the rest in parables, that ‘Seeing, they may not see, and hearing they may not understand.’ Now the parable is this: The seed is the word of God. And those by the wayside are they who have heard; then the devil comes and takes away the word from their heart, that they may not believe and be saved. Now those upon the rock are they who, when they have heard, receive the word with joy; and these have no root, but believe for a while, and in time of temptation fall away. And that which fell among the thorns, these are they who have heard, and as they go their way are choked by the cares and riches and pleasures of life, and their fruit does not ripen. But that upon good ground, these are they who, with a right and good heart, having heard the word, hold it fast, and bear fruit in patience.” When he had said this, he cried out “He who has ears to hear, let him hear!”

الرسالة (تيطس 3: 8-15)

يا ولدي تيطس، صادقٌ القول، وأُريد ان تُقرّرَ هذه الامور، حتى يكونَ الذين آمنوا باللهِ ذوي اهتمامٍ في القيامِ بالأعمال الصالحة. فهذه هي الحسنةُ والنافعةُ للناس. أما المباحثاتُ السخيفة والانساب، والخصوماتُ والمماحكاتُ على الناموسِ فأجتنبها، فإنها غيرُ نافعةٍ وباطلة. ورجلُ البدعة، بعد الانذارِ اولاً وثانياً، أعرض عنه، عالمًا ان مثلَ هذا قد زاغ، وهو في الخطيئةِ يقضي هو نفسُه على نفسِه. متى ارسلتُ اليكَ أرتماسَ او تيخيكسَ بادر ان يأَتيَني الى نيكوبولس. لأني عوَّلتُ ان اشتوَ هناك. اما زيناسُ معلمُ الناموسِ وأَبُلُّس، فجهّزهُما باعتناءٍ لئلا يُعوزَهما شيء. ليتعلَّم ذوونا ايضاً ان يقوموا بالأعمال الصالحةِ للحاجاتِ الضرورية، حتى لا يكونوا بدونِ ثمر. يُسلّمُ عليك جميعُ الذين معي. سَلِّم على الذين يُحبُّوننا في الايمان. النعمةُ معكم اجمعين. آمين.

الأنجيل (لوقا8 :5-15 )

قال الربُّ هذا المَثل: خرَجَ الزارعُ ليَزرَعََ زَرعَهُ. وفيما هوَ يَزرَع، سقَطَ الزرعُ على الطَّريق، فَوُطِئَ وأَكلَتُهُ طيورُ السَّماء. وسقَطَ البعضُ على الصَّخر، فلمَّا نبَتََ يَبِسَ لأَنهُ لم تكُن لهُ رُطوبة. وسقَطَ البعضُ بين الشَّوك، فنبَتَ الشَّوكُ معهُ فخنَقَهُ. وسقطَ البعضُ في الارضِ الجيِّدة، فلمَّا نبتَ أَثمَرََ مئةَ ضعف. فسأَلَهُ تلاميذُه قائِلين: ما عَسى أَن يَكونَ هذا المَثل؟ فقال: أَنتُم قد أُعطِيتُم معرفةَ أَسرارِ ملَكوتِ الله، وامَّا الباقون فبأَمثال، لكيلا ينظُروا وهم ناظِرون، ولا يفهَموا وهم سامِعون. وهذا هو المَثل: الزَّرعُ هو كلِمةُ الله. والَّذين على الطَّريق هُمُ الذينَ يَسمعون، ثمَّ يأْتي ابليسُ ويَنزعُ الكلِمةَ من قُلوبِهم لئَلاَّ يُؤمِنوا فيَخلُصوا. والذينَ على الصَّخرِ هُمُ الذين يَسمَعون الكلِمةَ ويقبَلونها بفرَح، فهؤُلاءِ ليسَ لهم أَصل، فيؤمِنون الى حين، وفي وقتِ التَّجربةِ يَرتَدُّون. والذي سقطَ في الشَّوك، هُمُ الذينَ يسمَعون، ثُمَّ يَذهَبونَ فيَختَنِقونَ بِهُموم الحياةِ وغِناها وملذَّاتِها، فلا يَأْتون بثمَر، وأَمَّا الذي سقطَ في الارضِ الجيّدة، فهُمُ الذينَ يَسمَعون الكلِمةَ فيَحفَظونها في قلبٍ جيدٍ وصالِح، ويُثمرون بالصَّبر. ولمَّا قالَ هذا صَرخ: مَن لهُ أُذُنانِ للسَّماعِ فليَسمَع.

EPISTLE: 2 COR 11:31-33-12:1-10 , 19 Sunday after Pentecost

Brethren, the God and Father of our Lord Jesus, who is blessed forever, knows that I do not lie. In Damascus, the Governor under King Aretas was guarding the city of the Damascenes in order to arrest me, but I was lowered in a basket through a window in the wall, and escaped his hands.
It is not fitting for me to boast: but I will come to visions and revelations of the Lord. I know a man in Christ who fourteen years ago (whether in the body, I do not know, or out of the body, I do not know: God knows) was caught up into paradise and heard secret sayings that man may not repeat. Of such a man I will boast; but of myself I will glory in nothing except my weaknesses. For if I do wish to boast, I shall not be foolish, for I shall be speaking the truth. But I give up, lest any man have an idea of me beyond what he sees in me or hears from me. And lest the greatness of the revelation puff me up, there was given to me a thorn for the flesh, a messenger of Satan to buffet me. Concerning this, I begged the Lord three times that it might leave me, but he said to me, “My grace is enough for you, for strength is made perfect in weakness.” Gladly, then, will I glory in my weaknesses, that the strength of Christ may dwell in me.

GOSPEL: Luke 6:31-36 - 2nd Sunday after the Holy Cross

The Lord said, “Even as you wish men to do to you, so also do you to them. And if you love those who love you, what merit have you? For even sinners love those who love them. And if you do good to those who do good to you, what merit have you? For even sinners do that. And if you lend to those from whom you hope to receive in return, what merit have you? For even sinners lend to sinners that they may get back as much in return. But love your enemies, and do good, and lend, not hoping for any return, and your reward shall be great, and you shall be children of the Most High, for He is kind towards the ungrateful and evil. Be merciful, therefore, even as your Father is merciful.”

الرسالة (2 كورنثس 11: 31 الى 12: 9)

يا إخوَة، يعلمُ إِلهُ وأَبو ربِّنا يسوعَ المَسيح، المباركُ الى الدهور، أني لا اكذب. كانَ الحاكمُ بدمشقَ تحتَ إِمرةِ الملكِ الحارث، يحرسُ مدينةَ الدمشقيينَ مُريداً أَن يَقبضَ عليَّ. فَدُلِّيتُ من كُوَّةٍ في زِنبيلِ من السُّور، ونجوتُ من يدَيهِ. ان الافتخارَ لا يفيدني، فإِني انتقلُ الى رؤَى الربِّ وايحاءاته. اني اعرفُ انساناً في المسيح، أُختُطِفَ الى السماءِ الثالثةِ منذ أَربعَ عشرةَ سنة، أَفي الجسدِ لستُ أَعلم، أَم خارجَ الجسدِ لستُ أَعلم، اللهُ يعلم. واعرف ان هذا الانسان، أَفي الجسدِ أَم خارجَ الجسدِ لستُ أَعلم اللهُ يعلم، قد اختُطفَ الى الفردوس، وسمعَ كلماتٍ سرّية، لا يَحلُّ لأنسان أَن ينطقَ بها. فمن جهةِ هذا افتخر. أَمَّا من جهةِ نفسي، فلا اَفتخرُ إِلاَ بأَوهاني. فإِني لو أَردتُ الافتخار، لم أَكن جاهلاً، لأني أَقولُ الحقّ. لكني أَكُفُ لئلاَّ يظُنَّ أَحدٌ بي فوقَ ما يراني عليه أَو يسمعُه مني. ولئلاَّ استكبرَ لِسُمُوِّ الايحاءات، أُعطيتُ شوكهً في الجسد، ملاكَ الشيطانِ ليلطمَني ليلاَّ استكبر. ولأجل ذلك طلبتُ الى الربِ ثلاثَ مراتٍ ان تفارقني. فقال لي: تكفيك نعمتي، لانَّ قوَّتي تَكمُلُ في الوَهْن. فبكلِّ سرورٍ اذن افتخرُ بالحريِّ بأَوهاني، لتَستقرَّ عليَّ قوَّةُ المسيح.

الأنجيل (لوقا6: 31-36 )

قالَ الربُّ: كما تُريدونَ أَن يَفعَلَ الناسُ بكُم، كذلكَ أفعَلوا أَنتم أَيضاً بهم. فإِنَّكم إِن أَحبَبْتُمُ الذين يُحِبُّونكم فأَيُّ فَضلٍ لكُم؟ فإِنَّ الخطأَةَ أَيضاً يُحبُونَ الذينَ يُحِبونهم. وإِن أَحسَنْتُم الى الذينَ يُحسِنُون اليكُم فأَيُّ فضلٍ لكُم؟ فإِن الخطَأَةَ أَيضاً يفعَلونَ ذلك بعَيِنِه. وإِن أَقرضتُمُ الذين تَرجُونَ أَنْ تَستَوفُوا منهُم، فأَيُّ فَضْلٍ لكُم؟ فإِنَّ الخطَأَةَ أَيضاً يُقرضون الخطأَة لكي يَستَوفُوا المِثْل. ولكِن أَحِبُّوا أَعداءَكُم، وأَحسِنوا وأَقرِضوا غيرَ مؤَملين شَيئاً، فيكُونَ أَجرُكُم كثيراً وتكونوا بَني العَليّ، لأنه منعِمٌ على غيرِ الشاكِرينَ والأَشرار. فكونوا اذَن رُحَماءَ كما أَنَّ أَباكُم رَحِيم.

EPISTLE: 2 COR 9:6-12, 18 Sunday after Pentecost

He who sows sparingly, will also reap sparingly, and he who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. Let everyone give as much as he has decided in his heart, not grudgingly or out of compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. (Prv.22: 8) And God is able to make all grace abound in you, so that always having ample means, you may abound in every good work, as it is written, He has scattered abroad and has given to the poor: his righteousness remains forever. (Ps. 111: 9) Now, he who provides the sower with seed will both give you bread to eat and multiply your seed, and will increase the growth of the fruits of your justification — that being enriched in all things, you may contribute with simplicity of purpose, and thus through us evoke thanksgiving to God.

GOSPEL: Luke 5:1-11 - 1st Sunday after the Holy Cross

At that time Jesus was standing by the Lake of Gennesaret. And he saw two boats moored by the lake, but the fishermen had left them and were washing their nets. And getting into one of the boats, the one that was Simon’s, he asked him to put out a little from the land. And sitting down, he began to teach the crowds from the boat. But when he had stopped speaking, he said to Simon, “Put out into the deep, and lower your nets for a catch.” And Simon answered and said to him, “Master, the whole night through we have toiled and have taken nothing; but at your word I will lower the net.” And when they had done so, they caught a great number of fishes, but their net was breaking. And they called to their comrades in the other boat to come and help them. And they came and filled both the boats, so that they began to sink. But when Simon Peter saw this, he fell down at Jesus’ knees, saying, “Depart from me, for I am a sinful man, O Lord,” For he and all who were with him were amazed at the catch of fish they had made; and so also were James and John, the sons of Zebedee, who were partners with Simon. And Jesus said to Simon, “Do not be afraid; from now on you shall catch men.” And when they had brought their boats to land, they left all and followed him.

الرسالة (2 كورنثس 9: 6-11)

يا إِخوة، من يزرعْ بتقتيرٍ يحصدُ أيضاً بتقتير، ومن يزرعْ بالبركاتِ فبالبركاتِ أَيضاً يحصدْ. فليُعطِ كلُّ احدٍ كما نوى في قلبه، لا عن ابتئاسٍ أَو اضطرار، فإِن الله يُحِبُّ المُعطيَ المُتهلِّل. واللهُ قادرٌ ان يُفيضَ عليكم كلَّ نعمة، حتى إذا كانت لكم كلُ كفايةٍ كلَّ حينٍ في كلِ شيء. تَفيضونَ في كلِ عملٍ صالح، كما كُتِب: إِنه بدَّد وأَعطى المساكين، فبرُّه يدوم إِلى الابد. والذي يرزقُ الزارعَ زرعاً وخبزاً للقوت، يرزقُكم زرعَكم ويُكثّرُه ويَزيدُ غِلالَ بِرّكم، فتستغنونَ في كلِ شيء، لأجل كلِ سخاءٍ خالصٍ ينشئُ شكراً للهِ بواسطتِنا.

في ذلك الزمان، بينمَا كانَ يسوعُ واقفاً عِنَْْدَ بُحَيرَةِ جَنِّيصارات، رأَى سفينتينِ واقفتينِ عندَ البُحيرة، وقدِ انحدَرَ مِنهُما الصَيَّادون ليَغْسلوا الشِّباك. فرَكبَ إِحدى السَّفينتَين التي كانتْ لسِمعان، وسأَلَهُ أَنْ يَتَباعدَ قليلاً عن البَرّ، وجلَسَ يُعلّمُ الجموعَ من السَّفينة. فلمَّا أَنجزَ كلاَمهُ قالَ لسِمعان: تَقَدَّمْ إِلى العَرْضِ وأَلقُوا شباككُم للصَّيِد. فأَجابَ سمعانُ وقالَ لهُ: يا معلّم قد تَعِبْنا الليلَ كلَّهُ ولم نُصِبْ شَيئاً، ولكِنْ بكلِمتِكَ أُلقي الشبكَة. فلمَّا فعَلوا ذلك حازوا مِن السمكِ شَيئاً كثيراً، فأَخذَت شَبكتُهُم تَتخرَّق. فأَشاروا إِلى شُركائهِم الذين في السَّفينةِ الأَخرى أَن يَأْتُوا لنَجدَتِهم، فأَتَوا ومَلأْوا السَّفينتينِ حتَّى كادَتا تَغرَقان. فلمَّا رأَى ذلك سِمعانُ بُطرسُ خرَّ عِندَ رُكبَتَي يَسوعَ قائلاً: أُبعُد عنّي ياربّ، فإِني رجُلٌ خاطئ. فإِن الذُّهولَ قد اعتراه هوَ وجميعَ الذينَ معهُ بسببِ صَيدِ السَّمكِ الذي أَصابوه. وكذلكَ يَعقوبُ ويوحنَّا ابنا زَبَدى اللَّذانِ كانا شَريكَينِ لسِمعان. فقالَ يسوعُ لسِمعان: لا تَخَف فإِنَّكِ مِنَ الآنَ تكونُ صَيَّاداً للنَاس. ولمَّا بلَغوا بالسَّفينتينِ إِلى البَرّ، تَركُوا كلَّ شَيء وتَبِعُوه.

EPISTLE: Galatians 2: 16-21

Brethren, we know man is not justified by the works of the Law, but by faith in Jesus Christ. Hence we also believe in Christ Jesus, that we may be justified by faith in Christ, and not by the works of the Law, because by the works of the Law no man will be justified. But if, while we are seeking to be justified in Christ, we ourselves also are found sinners, is Christ therefore the minister of sin? By no means. For if I rebuild the things I destroyed, I make myself a sinner. For through the Law, I have died to the Law, that I may live for God. With Christ I am nailed to the cross. It is now no longer I who live, but Christ is living in me. And the life I now live in the flesh, I live within the faith in the Son of God who loved me and gave himself up for me.

GOSPEL: Mark 8:34-9:1 - Sunday after the Holy Cross

The Lord said, “If anyone wishes to come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me. For anyone who would save his life will lose it; but anyone who loses his life for my sake and for the sake of the Good News will save it. For what does it profit a man, if he gains the whole world, but suffers the loss of his own soul? Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul? For whoever is ashamed of me and of my words in this adulterous and sinful generation, of him will the Son of Man also be ashamed when he comes with the holy angels in the glory of his Father.” And he said to them, “Amen I say to you, there are some of those standing here who will not taste death, till they have seen the kingdom of God coming in power.”

يا إِخوة، لِعلمنا بأنَ الانسانَ لا يُبَرَّرُ بأَعمالِ الناموس، بل انمَّا بالأيمان بيسوعَ المسيح، نحنُ أَيضًا آمنَّا بالمسيحِ يسوع، لكي نُبَرَّرَ بالأيمان بالمسيحِ لا بأَعمالِ الناموس. اذ لن يُبَرَّرَ بأَعمالِ الناموسِ أَحدٌ من ذوي الجسد. فإنْ كنَّا، ونحنُ طالبونَ التبريرَ في المسيح، نوجَدُ نحنُ أَيضًا خطأَة، أَفيكونُ المسيحُ خادمًا للخطيئة؟ حاشى. فإِن عدتُ أَبني ما قد هدَمتُ، جعلتُ نفَسي متعدّياً. لأني بالناموسِ مُتُّ للناموس، لكي أَحيا لله. اني مصلوبٌ مع المسيح. وأَنا حيٌّ، لا أَنا بعدُ، انما المسيحُ حيٌّ فيَّ، وما أَحياهُ الآنَ في الجسد، أنَّما احياهُ في الايمانِ بابنِ الله، الذي أَحبَّني وبذَلَ نفسَه عنّي

الأنجيل (مرقس 8: 34 الى 9: 1)

قالَ الربّ. مَن أَرادَ أَن يَتبَعني، فليُنكرْ نفسهُ ويَحملْ صليبَه ويتبعني. لأَنَّ مَن أَرادَ أَن يُخلّصَ نفسَهُ يُهلكُها ومَن أَهلَكَ نفسَه مِن أَجلي ومِن أَجلِ الإِنجيلِ فذاكَ يُخلّصُها. فإِنهُ ماذا يَنفَعُ الإِنسانَ لو رَبحَ العالَمَ كلَّهُ وخسِرَ نفسُه؟ أَم ماذا يُعطي الانسانُ فِداءً عن نفسِهِ. لأَنَّ مَن يَستَحِي بي وبكلامي في هذا الجيلِ الفاسقِ الخاطئ، يَستحي بهِ ابنُ الانسانِ أَيضاً متى أَتى في مجدِ أبيهِ معَ الملائكةِ القدّيسين. وقالَ لهم: الحقَّ أَقولُ لكم إِنَّ بعضَ القائمينَ ههُنا لا يَذوقونَ الموتَ حتَّى يرَوا ملكوتَ اللهِ آتياً بقوَّة.
