A local entrepreneur is turning vacant lots into a sweet community success story.

Trey Williams spent the last six years building Hood Honey in the Mount Pleasant neighborhood. He reclaimed land once used for illegal dumping to create an apiary, vegetable garden, and wellness space. The farm sits on the exact property where his grandmother and stepfather once lived. This operation now serves as an incubator for Black-owned agricultural businesses and offers educational tours for local children.

Juneteenth reminds us that freedom is not just about looking back. It is also about what we build moving forward ✊🏽❤️🖤💚

In Union-Miles, Mt. Pleasant, and communities across the country, that work continues through homeownership, entrepreneurship, education, neighborhood leadership, land stewardship, and creating opportunities for the next generation.

As we observe Juneteenth, we honor those who fought for freedom, those who carried communities through difficult times, and those who continue the work today.

We will be closed on Friday, June 19, 2026, in observance of Juneteenth. Office hours will resume on June 22

We wish everyone a meaningful day of reflection, celebration, family, and community.

Starting Friday, June 26th, NuPoint is launching Food Truck Fridays at Miles Shopping Plaza.

Each Friday, we will feature a rotating lineup of food trucks from across Cleveland and beyond, bringing a variety of cuisines and small businesses directly to the community.

Our kickoff featured vendor will be Cleveland Fish, serving up some of the freshest seafood in the city.
