Arts and culture shape how Cleveland Heights feels, moves, and gathers across all of our neighborhoods. On Thursday, Oct. 22 from 6:30-8:00 PM in Fellowship Hall at Forest Hill Church, Presbyterian (3031 Monticello Blvd.), we’re bringing neighbors together to decide where arts and culture goes next.
Our initial survey of 65 residents revealed some powerful insights and some big gaps we need you help to fill:
1. Underrepresented Neighborhoods: While areas like Cedar Lee made up 27% of responses, many of our neighborhood pockets- like Noble, Oxford, forest hills, and Caledonia- currently represent less than 1-5% of responses so far.
2. Missing household perspectives: Over 57% said teenagers and youth need more arts opportunities, yet households with children make up only 8% of survey respondents.
3. Inclusivity gap: Ove 60% of respondents rated 2 or less (out of 5 stars) on feeling welcomed or included in local arts events.
We want to change this. Whether you're an artist, an art lover, a parent, or someone who simply cares about you community's future, no mater what part of heights you call home, your voice belongs in this room.
