On far left is boxer Tony Brush whom the park in Little Italy on corner of Random and Mayfield Roads is named for. We need to know the others. Thanks!!!

We are working on our upcoming exhibit "Built in the Neighborhood: Italian American Boxers from Northeast Ohio" and came across this photo. Boxer Tony Brush is in the front row on the right. Do you recognize anyone else? It is labeled Alta House 1955. 🥊🇮🇹

Now THIS is dedication to a good time — a midnight walk of about 10 miles from Wickliffe, Ohio to Cleveland's Little Italy for Mardi Gras in 1925! What a fantastic piece of local Italian American history.🇮🇹🇮🇹

In 1925, a group of fun-loving men from Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church had been celebrating Mardi Gras when they decided to memorialize the event by visiting Little Italy in Cleveland.

The 21 men left Wickliffe at midnight and walked to Murray Hill, arriving at 6:00am. They persuaded a photographer to open early and take a photo. Lacking Mardi Gras costumes, creative improvisation was necessary.

Two hours later they returned to Wickliffe by vehicle.

✨ La Befana flies tonight! ✨
Cleveland has her very own Befana and she’s already been busy. She visited guests on our holiday tours and made a special stop at the Italian American Museum of Cleveland, spreading a little old-world magic along the way. 🧹🧣

You can view the exhibit on Louis Prima 🎺 ,stop by for a free talk by author Victoria Sirianni 🇮🇹 or take the neighborhood holiday tour.🎄 We will have lots of things for sale that will make great gifts,🎁 including artworks by Robertino Fatica, books on Italy, IAMCLE mugs, and of course our ever popular Meatball Buddies!!
