More Than 45 Students to Participate as Local Experts Unite to Help Young People Plan Their Future with Purpose and Confidence
CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. — More than 45 local high school students will participate in the PostGrad Ready College & Career Boot Camp, a free one-day experience designed to help students prepare for life after high school through career exploration, financial literacy, postsecondary planning, workforce readiness, and leadership development.
Hosted by PostGrad Ready, a Clarksville-based nonprofit organization, the Boot Camp will take place on Friday, June 5, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 3:15 p.m. Students representing schools across Clarksville-Montgomery County and surrounding communities will gather for a day of learning, networking, and planning for their futures.
Students will have the opportunity to learn directly from local professionals, educators, military leaders, financial experts, and community leaders through interactive sessions covering more than seven topics designed to help them prepare for what comes next after high school. Sessions include career exploration, military pathways, college and trade school options, networking and professional communication, scholarships and financial aid, money management, credit and debt, and postsecondary planning and goal setting.
The event theme, "Plan with Purpose. Move with Confidence," reflects PostGrad Ready's commitment to helping students understand that successful futures are built through planning, exploration, and perseverance.
“Many students have tremendous promise and potential but lack access to the information, networks, and opportunities needed to make informed decisions about their future,” said Dr. Dametraus L. Jaggers, Founder and Executive Director of PostGrad Ready. “Our goal is to ensure students leave with greater confidence, practical tools, meaningful connections, and a clearer plan for what comes next. Whether a student chooses college, trade school, military service, or the workforce, we want them to know they have options and a pathway forward.”
The Boot Camp builds on the success of previous PostGrad Ready programming, in which participating students reported increased confidence, greater clarity about future goals, and a stronger understanding of postsecondary opportunities. Through experiences like the College & Career Boot Camp, PostGrad Ready seeks to remove barriers and increase access to information, resources, and networks that can help students thrive beyond high school.
The event is made possible through the generous support of community sponsors and partners, including JessRooz Family Foundation, First Command Financial Advisor Terence Clay, Gray Family McDonald's, The Equity Alliance, and Altra Federal Credit Union. Their investments help ensure students can participate at no cost while receiving valuable resources, meals, educational materials, and access to professionals committed to helping them succeed.
A key component of PostGrad Ready's mission is addressing disparities in postsecondary access and success. The organization works to ensure that all students—particularly first-generation, economically disadvantaged, and historically underresourced youth have access to the resources, guidance, and support needed to pursue their goals after high school.
Through a formal Memorandum of Understanding with the Clarksville-Montgomery County School System (CMCSS), PostGrad Ready collaborates with local schools to expand access to college and career readiness opportunities for students across the community.
Community members, businesses, and organizations interested in supporting future PostGrad Ready initiatives through sponsorships, partnerships, volunteer opportunities, or charitable contributions are encouraged to get involved.
