🌟 Exciting News from the Kiwanis Club of Clarksville! 🌟

We are thrilled to announce the establishment of the “Ronnie Hunter Membership Fellowship” in partnership with the Kentucky Tennessee District of Kiwanis International Foundation! This fellowship honors the incredible dedication and service of Ronnie Hunter, a beloved member of our community who exemplifies the spirit of Kiwanis.

Ronnie Hunter is not just a name; he represents a spirit of dedication that has transformed our organization. From 1971 to 2007, Ronnie successfully recruited 56 new members to the Kiwanis Club of Clarksville, embodying the values of leadership and community service that Kiwanis holds dear. Ronnie had the privilege of serving in his role of a community bank in welcoming new businesses to the area. Those new business leaders would ask “How do we get involved in Clarksville?” Ronnie would answer by saying they needed to join the Kiwanis Club of Clarksville. Ronnie served in many capacities within the Kiwanis Club of Clarksville to include rising thru the ranks into President and led him to also serve as Lieutenant Governor of Division 14.

This Fellowship has a two fold opportunity to reward members and community leaders. New members of the KT Kiwanis District will have the opportunity to earn points and receive a scholarship to for their dues to include club, district and international. The opportunity to become or honor another person with a “Ronnie Hunter Membership Fellowship” will give them a medallion and the knowledge that a scholarship will be granted in their honor to continue the work of your local Kiwanis Division.

President Larry Schmidt and President-Elect Andy Laughlin presented a $20,000 check to fully fund the endowment from the Kiwanis Club of Clarksville. We thank those founding members, many of which are Past-Presidents of the Kiwanis Club of Clarksville, for giving us the ability to start this fellowship. “Ronnie Hunter Fellows” from the Kiwanis Club of Clarksville that were in attendance were Mark Hackett, Larry Schmidt, and Christopher Lanier.

Past Governor Claire Crouch and Governor-Elect Montee Sneed also purchased a founding member “Ronnie Hunter Membership Fellowship” and had their medallions bestowed to them at the 2026 KT District Foundation Luncheon.

A huge thank you to Christopher Lanier for his hard work serving as Lt. Governor for Division 14. His commitment and leadership have been instrumental in bringing the Ronnie Hunter Membership Fellowship to life. He has and continues to serve on the KT Kiwanis Foundation. We truly appreciate his efforts in promoting membership and enhancing our mission to support children and families.

Through this initiative, we hope to inspire others to join us in making a difference. Together, we can continue to grow and strengthen our club, strengthen our division, strengthen our district, and strengthen Kiwanis International ensuring that our commitment to service of children never wavers.

At the mid-year convention the amount of available scholarships for that year will be announced and applications will open to apply. Scholarship recipients will be announced at the Annual KT District Convention.

🌟 **Proud Participants in the Clarksville-Montgomery County School System Back to School Bash!** 🎒

We are excited to share that the Kiwanis Club of Clarksville, TN Kiwanis Club actively participated in this year’s Back to School Bash, benefiting the Clarksville Montgomery County school system and Families in Transition. We handed out approximately 6,500 pairs of soaks. This is a great partnership with YaiPak and Bombas where we can serve the children of our community.

A special shoutout to our dedicated members Justin Swallows, Michael Lankford, Andy Laughlin (along with his children), Rhana and Mark Hackett, and Christopher Lanier. Their commitment to our mission exemplifies the spirit of service that drives our club.

Together, we are working to ensure that every child has the tools and resources they need to thrive in their education. This event was not only about providing school supplies but also about fostering a sense of community and support for those in need.

We thank the united effort with local organizations, educators, and families for a day that was filled with fun and resources! Your involvement made a difference, and together, we can help create brighter futures for our students.

We recently visited the Kiwanis Club of Hopkinsville for an Interclub within our Division 14. We heard about a local non-profit fulfilling a need for the mentally challenged adult community, called Bright Life Farms. Bright Life Farms, Inc. is a faith-based non-profit group home for mentally or developmentally challenged adults, 18 years and older, who can do a lot of things, just should never live alone. We thank them for the hospitality and look forward to us being able to provide them lunch when they visit the Kiwanis Club of Clarksville, TN.

We proudly launched the Ronnie Hunter Fellowship, a meaningful initiative dedicated to Ronnie Hunter and his family, through a collaborative effort with the Kiwanis Club of Clarksville, TN (Downtown) and the Kentucky Tennessee District of Kiwanis International Foundation, aimed at driving membership growth. This esteemed recognition can be bestowed upon anyone as a symbol of appreciation, while also enabling the KT Foundation to award scholarships to exceptional newer Kiwanian members. The full details of this initiative will be unveiled at the 2026 KT Kiwanis District Convention this August. Notably, Lt. Governor/Past President Christopher Lanier (2012-2013) played a key role in presenting the Downtown Kiwanis' involvement to the membership, with numerous Past Presidents embracing the Ronnie Hunter Fellows to honor Ronnie's legacy, contributing to a remarkable 56 new members. The Kiwanis Club of Clarksville board has committed a $20,000 initial endowment of the Ronnie Hunter Fellowship Fund.
