The Caleb Cares Project

The Caleb Cares Project The Caleb Cares Project is a nonprofit serving Clarksville–Montgomery County, TN, inspired by Caleb’s life of compassion.

We support families in need, spread kindness, and honor his legacy by loving others well every day. Who We are

The Caleb Cares Project is a registered 501(c)(3) charitable organization that serves the Clarksville, Montgomery County, Tennessee area. Caleb Slate (https://ajourneyforcaleb.org/caleb/) not only lived, went to school and worked in our community, but he gave his heart and time in commun

ity service and showed love to people every day. This nonprofit strives to honor Caleb and carry on his legacy by using our hands to show love, give back and serve our community in his memory. Caleb died suddenly and tragically when he took his own life on August 12, 2019. Devastatingly, Caleb did not leave behind an explanation or reasons for that choice, but he did leave behind a legacy of love for us to continue. We were not ready for our earthly life with Caleb to end, so this Project helps us keep his name spoken and his love alive. While The Caleb Cares Project is an outreach organization, we also strive to bring awareness to young people and their families that su***de does not discriminate and strongly encourage open and honest conversations at home about what to do when difficult circumstances arise and life turns dark. Our Mission

Our mission is to show love and help meet the needs of under-resourced children, youth and families in our community. We see people for the child of God they are and will show that we love them just as He does. The motivation behind all we do is our love for Jesus and our compassion for people. We strive to enhance the quality of life for those in need in our community. Our Vision

To give, love and serve genuinely and authentically. To show people that we believe they are a big deal around here. Through us Caleb's hands will still give, his heart will still show love and his story will save lives.

This is one of our biggest and most meaningful projects. It’s also one of our most expensive. You feed yourself and your own family, so we don’t have to tell you how expensive groceries have become!

If you have $28 to spare this month, we would be so grateful for your support. And if you’re unable to give, would you consider sharing this fundraising campaign with 28 people? I believe there are many people who would gladly support our mission if they simply knew who we were and what we do.

Thank you for helping me honor Caleb’s birthday through our “28 for 28” campaign. The number 28 was Caleb’s jersey number, and every donation helps us continue carrying his kindness forward. 🧡

*AI helped me build the flyer, but I used my own photo, and I calculated the dollar amounts from my shopping at Sam’s Club*

Six years ago, our community came together to support The Caleb Cares Project. Because of your generosity, we have been able to provide hope and practical assistance to individuals and families facing some of life's most difficult circumstances.

Today, we're launching our first online fundraiser through Givebutter.

In the past, we've relied on fundraising events and the support of local sponsors to help sustain our mission. This year, we're taking our fundraising efforts online so that friends, family, supporters, and community members near and far can participate.

The reality is that our general fund is nearly depleted, but the requests for assistance continue to come in.

Recently, we received a call from a single mother of two whose water had been cut off due to loss of income. Stories like his remind us why this work matters and why we cannot stop.

As we approach Caleb's birthday on June 30, we're inviting you to join our $28 Giving Challenge, in honor of the number he proudly wore. Donations can be made in multiples of $28, and every gift—large or small—helps us continue serving those who need a hand up during difficult seasons.

If The Caleb Cares Project has ever touched your heart, would you consider making a donation today? If you're unable to give, sharing this fundraiser is another meaningful way to help.

Together, we can continue Caleb's legacy of kindness, compassion, and helping others.

Update 6/2: We’ve raised $766 across all donation platforms! Our goal is $10,000 by June 30. If you’re unable to give, would you consider sharing this fundraiser with 28 people in honor of Caleb’s number?

Thank you for your support! 🧡
——————————————————————
It’s been 3 years since we’ve fundraised for our general fund, and we are now nearly out of funds.

Between now and Caleb’s birthday on June 30th, we’re doing a special donation campaign asking for gifts of $28.00 in honor of his sports number, 28. 🧡

Today, I received a call that said:
“I’m a veteran who’s diabetic. I had 2 toes removed this week. I’m out of food and money, and I don’t get paid again until the 1st. Can you help?”

My answer was simple:
“Yes, we can.”

So Caleb’s dad and I went grocery shopping and delivered food to the motel where he’s currently living.

This is what The Caleb Cares Project is all about — meeting people where they are, showing kindness, and helping however we can. But we cannot continue doing this without your help.

Will you consider donating $28.00 to help us continue acts of kindness like this? You can scan the QR code or click the donate button.

And if you’re unable to give right now, would you please share this post with your people? Every share helps us reach someone who may be able to help.

Thank you for loving, supporting, and believing in this mission in honor of Caleb. 🧡
