We support families in need, spread kindness, and honor his legacy by loving others well every day. Who We are

The Caleb Cares Project is a registered 501(c)(3) charitable organization that serves the Clarksville, Montgomery County, Tennessee area. Caleb Slate (https://ajourneyforcaleb.org/caleb/) not only lived, went to school and worked in our community, but he gave his heart and time in commun

ity service and showed love to people every day. This nonprofit strives to honor Caleb and carry on his legacy by using our hands to show love, give back and serve our community in his memory. Caleb died suddenly and tragically when he took his own life on August 12, 2019. Devastatingly, Caleb did not leave behind an explanation or reasons for that choice, but he did leave behind a legacy of love for us to continue. We were not ready for our earthly life with Caleb to end, so this Project helps us keep his name spoken and his love alive. While The Caleb Cares Project is an outreach organization, we also strive to bring awareness to young people and their families that su***de does not discriminate and strongly encourage open and honest conversations at home about what to do when difficult circumstances arise and life turns dark. Our Mission

Our mission is to show love and help meet the needs of under-resourced children, youth and families in our community. We see people for the child of God they are and will show that we love them just as He does. The motivation behind all we do is our love for Jesus and our compassion for people. We strive to enhance the quality of life for those in need in our community. Our Vision

To give, love and serve genuinely and authentically. To show people that we believe they are a big deal around here. Through us Caleb's hands will still give, his heart will still show love and his story will save lives.

In a month that is incredibly hard to manage and walk through, meeting these needs for people right here in Clarksville was healing for me. Hearing the sighs of relief and seeing the tears of joy when we say yes and show up without a bunch of hoops to jump through means everything to people and families in crisis.

Fundraiser update!

As June 30th gets closer, I’ve been reflecting on all the ways our community has shown up for The Caleb Cares Project over the last 6 years.

Every donation. Every share. Every volunteer. Every business partner. Every word of encouragement.

Because of you, we’ve been able to help families keep their utilities on, put food on the table, provide sports opportunities for children, purchase Christmas gifts, offer scholarships, and meet countless other needs along the way.

What started as a way to honor Caleb’s life has become a community of people committed to loving and serving others.

This photo is a note from one of Caleb’s friends and fellow lifeguards. He gave it to us after Caleb’s passing. This is why we do what we do. Caleb cared deeply about people, and we’re committed to carrying that kindness forward.

So far this month, you’ve helped us raise $4,462.97 in support of our mission. For that, I am incredibly grateful. Our goal was $10,000, which leaves $5,537.03. If you can donate $28 or share this with 28 people, that would be great!

Thank you for helping us carry Caleb’s kindness forward. 🧡

Today, we paid the water bill for a single mom of 3 who is facing some difficult, unforeseen circumstances. If it hadn’t been paid today, her water would have been shut off.

Here’s an insight into how The Caleb Cares Project works. She called and emailed requesting assistance. We talked through her situation, I asked her to send me a copy of the bill, and then I called and paid it directly over the phone.

It’s really that simple.

In 13 days, we’ll celebrate Caleb’s birthday.

What began as a way to honor the life of a boy who loved people has grown into something so much bigger than we ever imagined. Because of your support, we’ve been able to help so many children and families over the last 6 years.

Every act of kindness, every family served, and every life touched is part of Caleb’s legacy.

If you’d like to help us continue loving and serving others in his memory, please click the donation link below, or give via another platform listed on the flyer.

Thank you for helping us carry Caleb’s kindness forward. 🧡
