Be the change you want to see in the world - Mahatma Ghandi

Project Yesu is a registered non-profit, 501(c)3 organization working in Uganda

Our mission is to "be the change you want to see in the world". I sent my parents an email with my Christmas list..the only item on it was to help Africa, and Project Yesu was born. My goals were simple, but my dreams were big. When you give your dreams to G

od he makes them BIGGER then you could ever have imagined. My focus with PY is on vulnerable children and orphaned children in Uganda. I provide food, medicine, and education through two programs on the ground in the Acholi Quarter and the village of Musima. Project Yesu is built on Mahatma Gandhi's quote that I read one day, "Be the change you want to see in the world". That is what I am doing, I want to Be the Change...do you? I challenge you to Be the Change! Project Yesu is a registered non-profit, 501(c)3 organization.

From First Grade to Graduation: The Journey of Mulumba Martine 🎓✨

Today, our hearts are overflowing with pride as we celebrate a monumental milestone for the Project Yesu family. Mulumba Martine has officially graduated from Makerere University!

Martine’s journey with us didn’t start yesterday—it began years ago when he was just a young boy in primary school. We have watched him grow from a curious student into a determined scholar, overcoming every obstacle with grace and hard work. Seeing him in his cap and gown isn’t just a win for him; it’s a testament to what happens when opportunity meets perseverance.

Martine, you are a shining example to every child currently sitting in a classroom. You proved that with faith, dedication, and a village behind you, no dream is too big.

A Note of Gratitude
This achievement belongs to our incredible community of supporters. To the sponsors who stayed by Martine’s side from primary school through his final university exams: you changed a life.

“Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.” — Nelson Mandela

Please join us in the comments by leaving a message of congratulations for Martine as he begins this exciting new chapter! 🥂👇

Back to Books and Big Dreams! 📚✨

The wait is finally over! Our students are officially back on campus, kicking off Term One of the new school year. There is nothing quite like the energy of day one—the crisp uniforms, the reunion of best friends, and that undeniable spark of potential in the air.

At Project Yesu, we believe that education is the ultimate heartbeat of change. These kids aren’t just returning to desks; they are returning to the opportunity to build a brighter future for themselves and their community.

To our sponsors, donors, and supporters: thank you. You are the reason these smiles are possible and these classrooms are full. Let’s make this the best year yet!

Help us keep the momentum going:

At Project Yesu, we’ve always believed that to truly change a child's life, you have to empower the family surrounding them. In today’s video, we are honored to introduce you to Nangobi Teddy and Itungulo Paul, two dedicated parents in our program who are proving that growth has no age limit. Watch as Teddy shares her journey through our vocational skills training to become a professional tailor, and Paul discusses the impact of the Good Dads Club, where he’s mastered animal husbandry to better provide for his household. This isn’t just a story about education or resources—it’s a powerful look at how sustainable change happens when parents are given the tools to lead their families toward a brighter, more self-sufficient future.

There’s something sacred about gathering for a meal. ❤️

During this holiday break, we’re slowing down to share meals, laughter, and meaningful moments together. These are the times when bonds are strengthened, stories are shared, and our children feel seen, safe, and deeply loved. Community is built one meal, one conversation, one moment at a time—and we’re so grateful for these moments together.
