Club Mission: To provide fellowship, community knowledge, personal development, and networking opportunities to its members and service to its community with an emphasis on helping people with developmental disabilities but open to community projects of any type. Structure: Club meetings to be held twice per month at 11:45am-12:30pm on Thursdays. Meetings to be held at an easily accessible locatio
n for members. Meetings will be limited to no more than 45 minutes in length to allow time for participation during the lunch hour. Meetings will be scheduled so as to accommodate the schedules of the greatest number of members. Organizational Meetings: Organizational meetings will include a light lunch, served beginning at 11:45 AM, and a brief introduction of the features of the Civitan organization, sometimes accompanied by video presentations and sharing of Civitan experiences of proven leaders. Ideas for possible club projects will be discussed beginning with the first meeting. A tight schedule will be maintained so that everyone can return to work on time. Meals: We will provide the buffet lunch free of charge to all prospective members at each organizational meeting. Overall Direction: Community Projects are chosen by the club to work on. Today we are an official Community Contact Group for the Wounded Warrior Project and work with the WTB at Fort Campbell. We have built Ramps for the disabled, collected toys and food in support of our Wounded Warriors. We are also working with the Jr. Civitan Club at Rossview Middle School and looking for other projects. We are always looking for ways to help our community and promote our businesses. Who May Join: Anyone who is interested in being part of an organization that provides support for the surrounding community and its citizens. While the international organization emphasizes support for those with developmental disabilities, individual clubs may choose their own projects tailored to community needs. Come and share you interests in community support with the group.
