Thank you to everyone who came out to our first meeting of the 2026–2027 season. It was great seeing everyone, and we had a really good turnout! The minutes from the meeting will be coming out soon.

We could use a few volunteers this Saturday to help with some firewood that was donated by the Bolins. We’ll be loading the wood and delivering it to the buyer, Mike Hudson, in Hillsboro.

We’ll meet at the Bolins’ at 7:30 AM and are hoping to have everything loaded and be on the road around 8:30 AM. We should be getting to Mike’s around 10:00 AM.

We’re especially looking for a few folks from the west side who can meet us there and help unload and stack the wood. If you can lend a hand, let me know and I’ll send you the address.

The more hands we have, the quicker we can get it done! Plus, it’s a great way to help one of our club members and his wife.

Also, thanks to everyone who has already renewed their membership. As of Tuesday, we’re up to 51 memberships!

Sno-Park permits are also in process. If you need one, just let me know. Please renew your membership and license your snowmobiles. This help all clubs and the snowmobile community through out the state.

🚨 OREGON SNOWMOBILERS — WE NEED YOUR HELP! ❄️🛷

According to registration data provided directly to OSSA by ODOT, Oregon currently has:

❌ 45,405 expired snowmobile registrations
✅ Only 10,168 currently registered snowmobiles

That is a huge gap, and we need snowmobilers across the state to help us turn those numbers around.

If you plan to ride this winter, please take a few minutes to check the registration on every sled you own and renew any that have expired.

You can also renew by mail or at an Oregon DMV office.

Hey everyone!

Snow isn't here yet, but a lot of you also use your SxS, ATVs, and dirt bikes to get out and enjoy the trails during the off-season.

While SxS and ATV riding still isn't legal in our Mt. Hood riding areas, there are a lot of great riding areas throughout Washington and Oregon, and other clubs and organizations are working hard to protect and expand access.

One of those organizations is Cougar Area Trail Seekers (CATS). They're a nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting, preserving, and protecting off-road riding opportunities and working with land managers to keep trails accessible.

They have a meeting coming up if you're interested in learning more or getting involved.

WORK PARTY SUCCESS!

Small crew. BIG RESULTS!

We split into two teams and got after it! Trees dropped, cut, split, stacked and ready to go. The other crew tackled the cleanup and kept the chipper busy. By the middle of the day, we got it ALL DONE!

A HUGE THANK YOU to every volunteer who gave up their Saturday to come out and put in the work. These projects don’t happen without members willing to show up, get dirty, and work together. We truly appreciate every one of you!

And a special HAPPY 14TH BIRTHDAY to Jax! 🎉🎂 The kid put in some serious work today and definitely earned his birthday cake!

Good evening, MHSC Members!

Hope everyone had a great summer and is getting ready for another great snowmobile season!

This is a special year for the Mt. Hood Snowmobile Club—we’re celebrating 60 years! More anniversary plans to come.

Work Party & BBQ — September 19
📍 Randy & Sandra Bolin’s
⏰ 8:30 a.m.–12:00 p.m.

We’ll be cutting and splitting a donated tree, with proceeds going toward the Skyline Shelter extension. We’ll have two wood splitters on site and need people to help with saws, moving, and stacking wood.

Burgers and hot dogs will be provided!

We expect about two cords of wood, which will be available for $225 per cord, delivered.

Our first general meeting will be October 6. Membership enrollment is also open for OSSA and state clubs.

Come out, lend a hand, and help us kick off our 60th anniversary season!

So we got out and did groom today. Some around frog and the boat ramp. Clear lake and part of the back side of Timothy up to the 58 and back. Some gravel on the 2610 the tunnel trail has lots of spots of dirt. The trail thru blue box is all dirt after the boat ramp and a 1 before clear lake crossing. The back side of clear lake is thin and not enough to fill all the potholes. It was getting thin on the back side of Timothy so not sure if you can go all the way around. Also you can not get to Bonnie from skyline unless you have wheels. Miles of blacktop showing. Trail to high rocks has snow and smooth. 35 trees removed. 58 miles. A good first day in February?!?!?!!!! Plus side. The sledding hill is all set and 48 feet wide and smooth.

It’s been a tough snow season — no denying that. The lack of snow has definitely made things challenging, but one thing hasn’t changed: the Mt. Hood Snowmobile Club is still showing up.

This past week, several of our members headed down to the OSSA Convention and had an absolute blast. We found snow, explored a new riding area, knocked out a solid club ride, and even squeezed in multiple days of riding. Proof that even in a light-snow year, this club is about getting after it, adapting, and making the most of every opportunity.

Even in a light-snow year, we’re staying active, planning ahead, supporting trail access, and keeping the snowmobile community connected. This club isn’t just about riding on perfect days — it’s about the people, the mountains, and making sure our sport stays strong for the seasons to come.

Whether you ride every chance you get or just love being part of the snowmobile community, we’d love to have you involved.
