Pickaway Progress Partnership - P3

Pickaway Progress Partnership - P3 P3 serves as the catalyst to create a positive business environment in Pickaway County.

The Circleville Pickaway Community Improvement Corporation (CIC) was started as a committee of the Pickaway County Chamber of Commerce in 1967. Other than issuing one or two industrial revenue bonds, the CIC had very little activity until late 2004 when new bylaws were adopted and a new board was put in place. It was about this same time that the CIC became its own entity and was no longer affilia

ted with the Chamber. In the summer of 2005 the CIC hired its first economic development director. The Board of the CIC made a strategic decision in the spring of 2006 to do business as the Pickaway Progress Partnership (P3) to better reflect the organizations goals and mission. P3 is the economic development agent for Pickaway County and its municipalities. P3 has three main objectives: promote and market the advantages of locating business in the county; promote a stronger business environment by facilitating retention and expansion efforts of local employers; and deliver a seamless network of economic development services and value-added programs to existing businesses, local government, and prospective companies throughout Pickaway County. P3 is a non-profit corporation with a board of directors comprised of leaders from the public and private sectors. P3 receives its funding from a variety of investors in the public and private sectors.

Agriculture has and will continue to be part of the fabric of the City of Circleville. We are happy to participate in the Agriculture Study initiated by the Agriculture Committee of Pickaway Progress Partnership and the Pickaway County Port Authority.

As we see the Central Ohio area grow, we know that economic development here MUST be informed by our agricultural roots.

I’m looking forward to the study developed by PlanningNext. Be on the lookout for more information and opportunities to participate, especially at this year’s Pickaway County Fair.

The future of Pickaway County is sitting around these tables. This week, students at Circleville High School participated in a youth engagement session connected to the future of agriculture and land-use planning effort now underway in Pickaway County. Students shared perspectives on growth, agriculture, jobs, development, infrastructure, and what they want the future of their communities to look like.

These conversations are part of the broader land-use planning initiative recently launched by the P3 and the Pickaway County Commissioners with a $50,000 planning grant from the Ohio Department of Agriculture. The process is designed to help Pickaway County proactively plan for growth while protecting the county’s agricultural heritage and quality of life.

As Pickaway County continues to grow and evolve, it is critical that the next generation has a seat at the table. These students will inherit the decisions being made today, and their ideas, concerns, and aspirations are an essential part of shaping the future of the county.

Thank you to the students, educators, and staff at Circleville High School for participating in this important conversation. More community engagement opportunities will continue throughout the coming months as this planning effort moves forward. Join the conversation.

Big news for Pickaway County!

We’re excited to share that Pickaway County has been awarded a $50,000 Land Use Planning Grant from the Ohio Department of Agriculture. This investment will help create our first-ever comprehensive Land Use Plan—supporting our farmers, preserving valuable farmland, and guiding smart, responsible growth.

This is a major step forward in strengthening agriculture while embracing new opportunities for our community’s future.
