The future of Pickaway County is sitting around these tables. This week, students at Circleville High School participated in a youth engagement session connected to the future of agriculture and land-use planning effort now underway in Pickaway County. Students shared perspectives on growth, agriculture, jobs, development, infrastructure, and what they want the future of their communities to look like.
These conversations are part of the broader land-use planning initiative recently launched by the P3 and the Pickaway County Commissioners with a $50,000 planning grant from the Ohio Department of Agriculture. The process is designed to help Pickaway County proactively plan for growth while protecting the county’s agricultural heritage and quality of life.
As Pickaway County continues to grow and evolve, it is critical that the next generation has a seat at the table. These students will inherit the decisions being made today, and their ideas, concerns, and aspirations are an essential part of shaping the future of the county.
Thank you to the students, educators, and staff at Circleville High School for participating in this important conversation. More community engagement opportunities will continue throughout the coming months as this planning effort moves forward. Join the conversation.
