🚨PICKAWAY COUNTY COMMUNITY CAT SPAY/NEUTER VOUCHER INFORMATION🚨

Circle Area Humane Society is excited to roll out the 2026 Community cat Spay and Neuter program thanks to grant funding through the Pickaway County Community Foundation and a collaboration with Canals Edge Veterinary Clinic.

If you are a colony cat caretaker, or a community member with stray cats in your area, you are eligible to get a voucher for a spay or neuter for $35

How it works:
We have a limited number of vouchers available. 20 Females and 20 Males. A limit of 2 vouchers per person is allowed at this time. These vouchers can only be obtained IN PERSON at Circle Area Humane Society and you will need to show proof of residency of Pickaway County to recieve your voucher. Details on how to schedule your appointment will be gone over with you when you recieve your voucher. Caretakers are responsible for making cats appointment, trapping and transporting to and from appointment, and paying the $35 voucher fee when receiving your voucher. Feral cats or cats who are not able to be handled must be in a live trap. Domesticated stray cats who are able to be handled can go to their appointments in a carrier. The vouchers only cover the spay/neuter of the community cats. Rabies shots will be available at a discounted additional cost during their appointment at the caregivers expense. Any other service requests will be at caregivers expense.

Vouchers are available for pickup starting today October 15 until 4pm.

Other voucher pick up dates are as follows:
Friday- October 16th 10am-12pm
Saturday-October 17th 10-12pm

If all vouchers are not claimed after Saturday, we will post alternate dates for pick up due to pumpkin show week. We will post an update once all vouchers are claimed. Vouchers are available on a first come, first serve basis.

🐾 Throwback Thursday: The History of Circle Area Humane Society 🏠🐾

This , we’re reflecting on the journey that brought us here and the history of your Circle Area Humane Society!

On August 1, 1946, a group of dedicated animal lovers gathered at the Pickaway County Courthouse to establish a Humane Society that would serve the entire Pickaway County community. Incorporated in 1947, they laid the foundation for an organization committed to giving animals a second chance at life.

That mission remains at the heart of our work today: to find loving, forever homes for animals rescued by the Humane Society or placed in our care by court orders due to cruelty, abuse, or neglect. For decades, we’ve been a voice for the voiceless, ensuring that every animal receives the care, compassion, and dignity they deserve.

Over the years, we’ve:
✨ Helped thousands of animals find their forever families.
✨ Built a community of passionate animal lovers, volunteers, and supporters.
✨ Advocated for the welfare and humane treatment of all companion animals.

We couldn’t have come this far without YOU—our dedicated supporters and community members who believe in our mission. Together, we’ve created a legacy of compassion and hope. Here’s to many more years of saving lives and spreading love!🐕🐈💖

💕 Meet Your Match Monday: Jane 💕

Named after the beloved author Jane Austen, Jane has all the charm and warmth you would expect from such a classic name. Unlike the quiet, reserved heroines of a novel, this Jane is wonderfully affectionate and absolutely adores people.

She’s the kind of cat who will happily soak up all the pets you’re willing to give. Jane loves attention, enjoys being close to her humans, and will gladly keep you company whether you’re relaxing on the couch or moving about your day. If you’re looking for a sweet, loving companion who truly enjoys human connection, Jane is ready to fill that role beautifully.

Her perfect ending? A home where she can share her affection freely and receive plenty of love in return.

Complete an application to come and meet Jane and see if she’s the leading lady your home has been missing. 🐾
