A couple weeks ago the WGGC hosted artist Sara Torgison for a workshop on botanical illustration for quilting and embroidery.

First up is Allison D. With her embroidered bladder wrack (fucus vesuculosus).

Next up is Sara K with (from the left) miscanthus seed head, prairie dropseed seed head, and golden rod (which she is quite happy with). She went out thrifting for more appliqué material and has visions for more to come.

Tomorrow is Second Saturdays at the Guild! Come check it out!

Join us on October 10 for Second Saturdays at the Guild. We will have a fiber arts marketplace, selling handmade items made by Guild members. There will be a demonstration of weaving on a Rigid Heddle Loom, and a $5 Make It Take It activity to make a Starburst Book Ornament
4 squares of paper, some cardboard, glue, a bit of string or ribbon and a bead can develop into a delightful hanging ornament which can double as a mini explosion book! Seasonal papers available to use. No skills needed. All ages.
Project fee: $5.00/2 ornament books. Please arrive by 1 pm to take part in the craft.

Put it on your calendar now to shop and check out the Weavers Guild of Greater Cincinnati.
