Restoration is more than planting greenery—it’s reshaping entire landscapes to bring streams back to life.

Pictured is the northern map turtle, a species found in the waterways of the Mill Creek watershed. This little guy loves swimming through streams with spots to bask like logs and rocks.

Northern map turtles rely on healthy aquatic habitats, a wide variety of food sources, and clean waterways. Freshwater turtles like the northern map turtle face threats from habitat loss and disturbance. Protecting our streams means protecting species like the northern map turtle.

Happy world bee day!

Once common in our region, the rusty patched bumble bee is now endangered - one of many native pollinators impacted by habitat loss. By planting native species and creating pollinator-friendly spaces, we can help provide food and shelter for these essential species.

Small actions can make a big difference.
