The Aruna Project A nonprofit athleisure brand for her freedom. All products are survivor-made and all sales revenue helps free, employ and empower.

Aruna is a Hindi word meaning 'bright morning sun.' The Aruna Project is working to end commercial sexual exploitation by bringing freedom and restoration to the many women and children sold into the trade. We do this through raising awareness and funds by mobilizing thousands across the US in Aruna Runs to Run for Their Freedom. In South Asia, through partnerships in red light areas, we help brin

g freedom to those at the mercy of injustice, then employ each woman in our freedom business subsidiary, Somerset Exports. Products produced through the freedom business are distributed through the Aruna Project at each Aruna Run, on our eCommerce platform and future expansion into retail. Bring hope by joining in Aruna Run, hosting an Aruna Run or supporting the Aruna Project effort through monthly giving. Bring and sustain freedom by purchasing products handmade by women who are no longer slaves, but are now Artisans living in freedom.

Trying to beat the heat? ☀️ We certainly will be after the Cincinnati Aruna Run on Labor Day with our friends at Child Artisan Pops! They will be stationed at the Smale Park post-race party serving up the very best whole blended fruit pops. 🍧

At Honey Child Pops, all of their delicious hand-crafted fruit pops are free from cane sugar, dairy, and gluten. They sweeten ther pops with a touch of honey or maple syrup, if they use any sweetener at all. You really can taste the difference.

If you're local to Cincinnati, come hang out with us on September 6 at MadTree Brewing in Oakley! We will have our 3rd annual Cincinnati Aruna Run expo, and are incredibly grateful for the continued support from our friends at MadTree. They have been an exceptional partner over the years and have helped support Aruna's mission of freeing, employing, and empowering women out of human trafficking.

The event is free and open to the public - all ages are welcome! (You can even bring your furry friends into the expo space!)

Come by from 11AM to 3PM and enjoy a stroll through the expo to pick up your race day packet, shop our array of vendors, and enjoy lunch and a beverage at MadTree! (You'll even get a special discount for your meal!)

Building the foundation for lifelong freedom and independence. 🤍At Aruna Training Centers, women participate in a paid manufacturing apprenticeship where they develop skills and gain experience while receiving transitional housing, trauma care, and life-skill development.

This time of training and support helps prepare each woman for employment and the next step in her journey toward independence, empowerment, and flourishing in freedom.
