Yesterday was Women’s Equality Day, a day that commemorates the certification of the 19th Amendment and also reminds us that the promise of equality has never been experienced equally by all women.
And that work didn’t end yesterday.
Equality means having the information, resources, access, and support to make informed decisions about your own body and your own health.
It means affordable, comprehensive healthcare. Being listened to and believed. Receiving care that respects your identity, circumstances, and choices.
Because your ZIP code, income, race, disability, age, gender identity, or insurance status should never determine the quality of care or information available to you.
At SHE+, we believe accurate, inclusive health information is power, and that health equity is essential to equality.
Women’s Equality Day may have been yesterday. The work continues every day.
