Research like this only happens when people choose to fund what has been ignored for far too long.

Because of your support, over $171,000 was dispersed to the Society of Gynecologic Surgeons across three payments to help complete the VULVIE Trial, a randomized controlled study examining vulvar fractionated CO2 laser therapy with and without topical clobetasol for the treatment of Vulvar Lichen Sclerosus (VLS).

VLS is chronic, painful, underdiagnosed, and too often dismissed. Patients deserve more than symptom management—they deserve evidence, options, and better standards of care.

This is what impact looks like:
funding research,
advancing treatment,
and changing lives.

Your support helps move women’s s*xual health forward.

Too many women are told to “just live with it.”

For women living with vulvar lichen sclerosus (VLS), that can mean years of severe itching, burning, painful s*x, skin tearing, scarring, and a major loss of confidence, intimacy, and quality of life.

That is exactly why SHE+ Foundation helped fund the groundbreaking VULVIE Trial.

This multicenter randomized controlled trial studied whether fractional CO2 laser therapy combined with topical clobetasol—the current gold-standard treatment—could improve outcomes for women living with VLS.

The results were significant.

Patients receiving laser therapy + clobetasol experienced greater improvement in quality of life, symptom relief, vulvar comfort, s*xual well-being, and overall patient-reported outcomes.

For many women, standard treatment helps.
For others, symptoms persist.

This study showed there may be a better path forward.

Because women deserve treatment plans built around outcomes—not just endurance.

At SHE+, we believe women deserve answers, innovation, and evidence-based care.

And sometimes, research does more than improve symptoms—
it gives women their lives back.

May is AAPI Health Month, a time to honor the health, stories, and lived experiences of Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander communities.

But honoring AAPI health also means being honest about the barriers that persist.

AAPI communities are incredibly diverse, yet health data is too often grouped together in ways that hide real disparities. Subgroup data from the CDC shows wide variation in late-stage cancer diagnoses across Asian and NHPI communities, including cervical cancer, where late-stage diagnosis ranged from 38.1% to 61.1% across subgroups.

For s*xual and reproductive health, that means we need care that is:
trauma-informed, culturally responsive, language-accessible, stigma-free, and rooted in trust.

Today, on World AIDS Vaccine Day, we honor the scientists, advocates, survivors, and communities pushing HIV prevention and STI research forward.

More than 40 years into the HIV epidemic, the fight is not over—but progress is real. Advances in HIV prevention, treatment, and vaccine research continue to save lives and move us closer to a future where HIV is no longer a public health crisis.

This day is also a reminder that s*xual health research matters. From HIV to HPV, herpes to hepatitis, STI and STD research shapes prevention, early detection, treatment access, and quality of life for millions of people.

Sexual health is general health.
Research saves lives.
Access changes outcomes.

At SHE+, we believe education, prevention, and equity in care are non-negotiable.

Because everyone deserves informed, stigma-free healthcare.

Mental Health Awareness Week reminds us that s*xual health is general health.

Painful intimacy, s*xual dysfunction, menopause symptoms, hormonal changes, anxiety, depression, and shame are all deeply connected—and too often, people are told these struggles are “just physical.” They’re not.

When s*xual health is ignored, mental health suffers. When mental health struggles go untreated, intimacy and connection can suffer too. It’s all connected.

At SHE+, we believe whole-person care matters: honest conversations, trauma-informed healthcare, access to treatment, and support without shame. Because healing should never stop at one part of the body.

You deserve answers.
You deserve support.
You deserve care.

Pain that disrupts your life is not something to normalize.

For millions living with adenomyosis and endometriosis, the hardest part is often not just the pain—it’s being believed.

On average, endometriosis takes 7–10 years to diagnose, while adenomyosis is often identified even later—sometimes only after hysterectomy. Too often, symptoms are dismissed as “just bad periods” instead of recognized as serious pelvic health conditions.

Delayed diagnosis isn’t accidental. It’s driven by systemic gaps: normalized menstrual pain, limited provider training, barriers to imaging and specialty care, and persistent gender bias in healthcare.

Pain is information.
Pain deserves attention.
Pain deserves care.

Mother’s Day can hold joy, grief, gratitude, longing, love, and loss, all at once.

Today, we honor mothers in every form:
those raising children,
those hoping to become mothers,
those grieving children,
those navigating infertility,
those healing from complicated relationships,
those mothering communities,
and those learning to reparent themselves.

Motherhood is not one story.
It is sacrifice, resilience, tenderness, strength, and survival.

At SHE+, we recognize that maternal health, reproductive care, mental health support, and access to equitable healthcare are all part of honoring women—not just today, but every day.

To every person carrying the weight and beauty of motherhood in any form:
we see you.
we honor you.
we celebrate you.

Happy Mother’s Day.

Today is World Ovarian Cancer Awareness Day.

Ovarian cancer is often called the “silent disease,” but the truth is, people have been speaking about symptoms for years. They’ve just too often been dismissed.

Bloating. Pelvic or abdominal pain. Feeling full quickly. Frequent urination. Persistent fatigue. Changes in appetite. These are not things to ignore.

There is no reliable early screening test for ovarian cancer, which makes awareness, advocacy, and listening to women’s bodies even more critical.

Early detection saves lives.
Research funding matters.
Access to quality care matters.
Believing women matters.

This World Ovarian Cancer Awareness Day, we honor survivors, remember those we’ve lost, and continue pushing for better outcomes, better research, and better healthcare for all.

Knowledge is power. Awareness is action.
