A round of applause for our 2026 Rising Stars! ๐Ÿ‘ Over the last five months, these phenomenal women have taken actionable equity training to eliminate discrimination in their workplaces and communities. Now certified by YWCA Greater Cincinnati for non-profit board service, they join a powerful network of women ready to lead with purpose.

We were also proud to recognize two outstanding high school seniors, Camille Gordon and Tasheanna Miller, as recipients of the Mamie Earl Sells Scholarship, supporting their next steps in higher education and future leadership journeys.

Special thank you to Junior League of Cincinnati for hosting us.

Nominations for our next Rising Stars cohort will open this summer. Follow us here on social and on our website for more details coming soon!

In 2025, YWCA Greater Cincinnati impacted 11,749 individuals across our region through domestic violence services, housing support, youth violence prevention, advocacy, and leadership programming.

Behind every number is a person who found safety, stability, empowerment, or hope.

When survivors of domestic violence flee abusive situations, they often leave with nothing but the clothes on their backs. Thanks to our incredible community, we receive wonderful donations of clothing and essentials for our clients and their children.

To make these items truly accessible, we need a helping hand to get organized. We are setting up improved storage and display systems in our shelter so survivors can easily browse these essentials.

Our Exact Needs: We have selected durable items on our Amazon Wishlist that will perfectly fit our space:

1. Clothing Racks
2. Shelves
3. Storage bins

Want to ship a donation directly to our shelter? Tap the link to purchase one of these exact items from our wishlist ๐Ÿ‘‰ https://bit.ly/4dMCbrO

Every rack and bin helps us turn a stressful transition into an organized, welcoming fresh start. Thank you for standing with survivors in Greater Cincinnati!

Meet Camille Gordon, one of our 2026 Mamie Earl Sells Scholarship recipients.

Camille is a future healthcare leader who graduated from Villa Madonna Academy with a 4.3 weighted GPA while balancing rigorous academics with an extraordinary commitment to service.

Her passion for patient care was shaped by years spent helping care for her father during his battle with cancer. That experience inspired Camille to pursue a future in medicine and fueled her work as a volunteer and pharmacy technician at Saint Elizabeth Medical Center, as well as a dietary aid at Madonna Manor, where she focused on helping patients feel seen, comfortable, and empowered.

Camille has also become a powerful voice for others through her leadership at the Kentucky Youth and United Nations Assemblies, where she advocated for healthcare access and refugee rights while helping pass more than 20 mock legislative proposals.

This fall, Camille will attend Case Western Reserve University to study Neuroscience on a pre-med track as she works toward her dream of becoming a medical doctor.

Congratulations, Camille!

Meet Tasheanna Miller, one of our 2026 Mamie Earl Sells Scholarship recipients.

Tasheanna is the valedictorian of Oyler High School, graduating with a 4.14 GPA, straight A Honor Roll recognition every quarter, and the highest AP English Language score in her schoolโ€™s history.

After moving from Chicago to Cincinnati during the pandemic, Tasheanna turned to art as a way to navigate change and create stability. What began as an outlet quickly grew into a passion and future career path in illustration, painting, and graphic design.

Through programs like ArtWorks and the GRAD Summer Institute, Tasheanna contributed to major public art projects across Cincinnati while also growing as a leader, overcoming her fear of public speaking, and becoming what she calls an โ€œadvocate of opportunityโ€ for others around her.

This fall, she will attend the University of Cincinnatiโ€™s DAAP program to study Fine Arts and continue building a lifelong creative career.

Congratulations, Tasheanna!
