BajaEd: breaking the cycle of poverty through education. This puts basic education out of reach for many families.

We know that the key to breaking the cycle of poverty is education. Here in the US, we are fortunate to have access to a free educational system that is within everyone’s reach. However, in Mexico, attending even elementary school includes costs such as mandatory school fees, school supplies, and uniforms, without which a student cannot enter school. In response to this need, Baja Ed works to benefit students from elementary school to university. We identify children with potential and motivation, and support them in their studies. If you are interested in sponsoring a child’s education, costs for tuition, uniforms, school supplies and transportation are as follows:

ELEMENTARY SCHOOL: $240 per semester or $480 per school year

SECONDARY SCHOOL: $300 per semester or $600 per school year

HIGH SCHOOL: $375 per semester or $750 per school year

UNIVERSITY: $1150 per semester or $2300 per school year

The families of our students were severely affected by Hurricane Rachel. In response, and as a gesture of solidarity with these families and the wider community, our BEI Educational Center will serve as a collection center for food and essential supplies to support families affected by the flooding.

Dear friends,

With heavy hearts, we want to share the impact of Hurricane Rachel on our community.

Many of our students’ homes were flooded. They have lost furniture, clothing, and other belongings. Some have lost everything.

At BajaEd, we stand with our students and their families. We’re collecting donations to help our community recover and begin rebuilding. Hurricane Rachel has deeply affected us, but one thing remains true: our students and their families are not alone.

Tomorrow, we’ll be back in the community with our **Hands That Transform** program! This time, we’ll visit Ñaa Xini Ma Nuu Ñu Indigenous Elementary School.

This collaboration is especially meaningful thanks to our partner, Karen Quiros. For the past three years, Karen has joined us in community service activities. Whenever she comes to help build a house with Baja Bound, she also makes time to visit us—and often brings school supplies, too!

Karen and her friends have made an incredible difference in our community, especially in local schools. They bring smiles to students’ faces by painting murals, repairing playgrounds, building shade structures, and distributing school supplies.

We’re so grateful for their generosity, dedication, and continued support. Thank you, Karen and your amazing friends, for helping us create positive change in our community! 💚
