Through mentorship, leadership, brotherhood, and cultural pride, we help them build confidence, unlock their potential, and grow into powerful, purpose-driven leaders.

So many magical moments at the 5th Annual Hats & Bow Tie Brunch that I can’t fit them all into one post!

But I wanted to take a moment to thank and Henry Foster III for your unwavering support as we continue building up these young men and creating spaces where they feel seen, celebrated, and valued.

To be recognized with a proclamation announcing April 23rd as OUR KINGS Day in the City of San Diego is something we do not take lightly. Even more special was watching our boys stand proudly in that moment, receiving this honor and seeing firsthand that their voices, their presence, and who they are truly matter.

Shout out to the OUR KINGS team and Jordan Brown for always showing up and making things happen behind the scenes. The planning, the calls, the running around, and all the little things people don’t always see.
Our boys were able to experience a moment they’ll remember, and that means everything.

Super late post but...a couple weekends back, OUR KINGS had its very first Parent & Community Partner Celebration. An intimate space created with love to simply pause and pour back into the people who have been pouring into our young KINGS.

Behind every child is a village, and we never take for granted the parents, mentors, supporters, and community partners who continue to show up, encourage, and believe in our boys. It was a room filled with genuine connection, laughter, love, and gratitude. This moment reminded me that none of this is work can be done alone, and our village is something truly special. 🖤💛

We want to start by saying thank you to everyone who has shown interest in our Hats & Bow Tie Brunch since the SOLD OUT announcement yesterday.

We are incredibly grateful for the love and support from our village.

Unfortunately, due to venue capacity, this event is officially SOLD OUT. We know some of you were still hoping to grab tickets, and we truly appreciate the excitement and support surrounding this special celebration.

The Hats & Bow Tie Brunch is an annual event, and we look forward to bringing it back next May so we can celebrate with even more of our community. Thank you for continuing to support and celebrate our young KINGS with us.

This weekend, OUR KINGS was invited to break bread and visit the Hartsfield-Davis Stentorians Training Center,
an association of African-American firefighters in Los Angeles. It was a powerful experience for our young KINGS.

Not only were they surrounded by brotherhood and leadership, but they also had the opportunity to step into a space rich with history and legacy. The building holds stories of perseverance, excellence, and generations of African-American firefighters who helped break barriers and open doors for those who followed.

This embodied everything OUR KINGS stands for — exposure, representation, and showing our boys that they come from greatness. A huge thank you to Captain Hawkins, and his team for the warm embrace and a shout out to for the introduction 👑

This weekend, the Big Brother Leadership Academy had the incredible opportunity to visit the GIANTS exhibit at Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego here in San Diego.

Our boys were immersed in urban art, culture, and powerful pieces they may not normally experience in spaces like this. But more importantly, this was a chance for our BBLA Scholars to put what they’ve been learning into action—making eye contact, asking thoughtful questions, giving firm handshakes, actively engaging, and learning the power of listening before speaking.

This was much more than a field trip—this was preparation. Preparation for rooms of opportunity, spaces of leadership, and moments of networking that will help shape their future.

A special thank you to Brandon Flowers for continuing to guide our young Kings through the power of expression and art. Your partnership, presence,and commitment to our boys means more than words can say.
