FUNDHOLDER HIGHLIGHT:
The Blachowiak Family Fund honors Jerome and Karen Blachowiak and their lifelong connection to Chippewa Falls. Their children, Anna, Becky, Christopher and David, grew up in the community, creating cherished memories of time spent on Lake Wissota, summer reading programs at the library, swimming lessons at the Bernard F. Willi Outdoor Pool and picnics at Irvine Park.

Inspired by their parents’ generosity and commitment to helping others, the Blachowiak family established a fund to continue supporting the community they called home.

The Blachowiak Family Fund is a Designated Fund that will provide ongoing funding for the Lake Wissota Improvement & Protection Association, the Bernard F. Willi Outdoor Pool, the Chippewa Falls Public Library, and the Foundation's Community Needs annual grant cycle.

"Initially, we had intended to earmark our funds for activities involving youth. This designation was a natural considering our number of grandkids. We have a combined family of 9 living adult children. After further consideration, we opted for an Unrestricted endowment fund. We are confident that a board of community minded people will be in charge of our funds and make the most appropriate decisions, in perpetuity. Unrestricted giving is a chance for a person to do the greatest good.

Nearly all of Mark’s sympathy cards designated the Community Foundation of Chippewa County as their choice of remembrance for him. I suspect that those same friends will honor me in that way, as well. What a remarkable gift that keeps on giving!"

Theresa (Tia) Stai grew up camping with her mom, dad and older siblings, later discovering Brunet Island where her family continues to gather. Tia and her husband, Scott, honor this family tradition of being together outdoors with a fund that will enhance the opportunity for future generations to have their own family camping experiences.

The Brunet Island State Park Seedling Fund, was established in memory of Tia's parents, Melvin and Betty Gosse. Once it grows into a fully endowed fund, grants will support the quality of park programs and will provide the little extras to park visitors that make their experience unique and special.
