You can tell when something important is taking shape, and our gathering at Lincoln Park Zoo felt like one of those moments, macaques and all.

More than a year in the making, this effort has brought together a group of local organizations through steady leadership and coordination to launch the Lincoln Park Dementia Friendly Initiative. Together, we are working to build a community where people living with memory loss and their caregivers feel understood, welcomed, and supported, and where local businesses are equipped to respond with awareness and care.

It’s an exciting and meaningful step toward a more compassionate and connected community.

This April, the Monthly Happy Hour with the Life 3.0 Committee will be a special fundraiser. All proceeds will go towards furnishing and stocking our new communal space at the Village office where members will be able to spend time, socialize, attend classes, and enjoy.

This event will take place at the beautiful and conveniently located Old Town Triangle Association at 1763 N North Park Avenue in Lincoln Park from 5-7PM on Tuesday, April 14th. It is a fantastic opportunity to meet new Village members, chat with our local community partners and supporters, and also reconnect with old friends. We will have light bites, refreshments (soft drinks, wine and beer), raffles and more.

Thank you to Board Chair David Baker, for leading another beloved bird walk on the lakefront on Saturday, February 28th. Members and their guests gathered at Montrose Point to see what species of birds have braved the winter and if any early migrants have shown up.
