Please join us in welcoming Nicole Meunier, the new Care For Friends Executive Director.

Nicole joins our community with 15 years of nonprofit leadership experience, a Master of Public Administration - Public Management from DePaul University, and served on multiple nonprofit boards in Detroit and Chicago.

“As someone who believes access to food, healthcare and housing are human rights, I was inspired by the compassion Care For Friends serves its guests and neighborhoods. I cannot wait to work with everyone at CFF, to continue the amazing work and expand our mission in the city we love!”

We would also like to thank our wonderful Interim Executive Director, Eden Juron, for her service these past months. Her guidance, expertise, and kindness has made a tremendous impact, and Care for Friends is grateful for the bridge she built ushering a new era at CFF. Eden will be with us through the end of the month, be sure to say farewell when you see her next.

Prior award winners have included Illinois Secretary of State Alexi Giannoulias, the NFL’s Matt Forte, and ’ Emily Sachs Wong.

As we close up Black History Month, let’s be reminded how integral black business, culture and organization have been in the creation of our communities. There is no US history without black history.

Likewise, we cannot foster community if we don’t support each-other. So we at CFF ask you to take a dive into the wonderful spaces that surround us. Community, love, and safety is always closer than you think, and these places prove that.

Around 220,000 Chicagoans are uninsured.

For those experiencing homelessness, the reality is even worse. In fact, people experiencing homelessness average 1.4 million emergency department visits each year. Those without stable housing often turn to hospital emergency departments when they feel they have nowhere else to go for medical care.

That’s were we come in.

Through multiple clinics and meaningful partnerships with organizations like CountyCare, PrimeCare health and Tapestry 360 health, we’ve worked to provide a stable medical home to 75% of our guests. Somewhere where they are safe, where they can be seen and where their medical needs can be met.

Your participation in Sleepout ensures the continued support in various Care For Friends programing, including our awesome Carepack program!

Care For Friends “Carepack” program allows us the deliver a months worth of groceries to students experiencing food and home insecurity. These packages are delivered to whereever the student is staying. This past year alone we delivered groceries to over 700 families!
