A Muslim leader attending and praising a Chinese state-aligned Eid event while Uyghurs face genocide is not “engagement,” it’s propaganda whitewashing.

The Islamic Council of Victoria and Mohamed Mohideen owe the Uyghur community an apology.

If Israel hosted the same event, Muslims would immediately condemn it. The double standard must end.

🕌💔 Another Eid Al Adha has passed where millions of Uyghur Muslims were denied even the most basic right: praying Eid salah freely.

On Chinese social media, the videos are always the same:
🎶 dancing
🍢 eating
🎉 staged celebrations

But where are the:
🧎 Eid prayers?
📿 Takbirs?
🕌 crowded mosques?
🤲 families making dua?
🐑 sacrifices for Allah?

Not one image. Not one moment of visible Islamic life.

A people are being forced to celebrate Eid without Islam itself being seen.

Eid under occupation is not freedom. The silence in those missing images says everything.

One day very soon, we will celebrate Eid not under occupation, not in fear, not separated from our loved ones, but in a free East Turkistan.

🚨Chinese State-sanctioned Uyghur Imam Arrested

Abdushukur Rehmutulla, vice president of the Chinese Islamic Association, was reportedly arrested in March 2026.

For 12 years, he served as an imam, government representative, and prominent figure in China’s “ethnic unity” propaganda campaigns. He met Xi Jinping and was promoted by Chen Quanguo as a “model” Uyghur religious leader.

No level of obedience, cooperation, or public loyalty protects Uyghurs from persecution under the Chinese regime.

Justice For All’s Save Uyghur Campaign strongly condemns the kidnapping and detention of two Uyghur activists, Validin Asaf and Ibrahim Ishak, by Israeli forces in international waters on May 18 while they were participating in the Global Sumud Flotilla humanitarian mission to Gaza.

Save Uyghur Campaign Team Lead Arslan Hidayat said: “Uyghurs understand deeply what it means to face oppression, arbitrary detention and state violence. Validin Asaf and Ibrahim Ishak risked their safety to stand against the siege of Gaza and defend basic human dignity. Instead of being protected under international law, they were abducted in international waters for participating in a peaceful humanitarian mission.”

Today, Uyghur Activist Ibrahim Ishak from Turkiye has announced via a pre-recorded video that he has been detained by Israel occupying forces in international waters.

He was part of the Global Sumud Flotilla fleet on the Rim boat.

Justice For All’s Save Uyghur Campaign is deeply concerned following President Donald Trump’s recent visit to China, during which he failed to publicly address the ongoing genocide and crimes against humanity targeting Uyghurs and other Turkic Muslims in East Turkistan.

“History will remember who chose profits over principles while an entire people were being crushed under a genocidal system,” said Arslan Hidayat, Team Lead for the Save Uyghur Campaign. “Uyghurs are enduring mass surveillance, forced labor, torture, r**e, family separation, and the destruction of their faith and identity. Survivors, leaked documents, satellite evidence, and even former Chinese police officers have exposed the truth. Silence from world leaders is not neutrality, it is complicity."
