IWS Family Health Auxiliary The mission of the IWS Family Health Auxiliary is to provide financial and volunteer support to IWS Family Health Clinic.

Established in 1913, the IWS Auxiliary has has donated more than $142 million to the Clinic. Funds raised by the Auxiliary support the IWS Family Health Center, a medical clinic located in Logan Square that offers comprehensive medical, dental, and other healthcare services to underserved families.

We are so excited to announce our first-ever IWS Mahjong Night! This brand-new tradition brings together friends and players from across all IWS chapters for an evening of friendship, fun, and fundraising in support of IWS Family Health.

Whether you are a seasoned advanced player, a total beginner, or simply want to hang out, shop, and socialize with an amazing community of women—this night is for you! All members and non-members are welcome.

* Play: 2 hours of Mahjong play provided by the Lucky Tiles League (all levels welcome!).

From IWS Family Health CEO, Heidi Ortolaza-Alvear, AM, MPP:

“Sometimes the road feels long, and opportunities can seem as though they’re sitting just out of reach. But deliberate, sustained effort can make way for success. I know this personally, and I’m grounded in this belief every day as CEO of IWS Family Health.

For more than seven years, IWS Family Health has pursued Federally Qualified Health Center status, and I’m thrilled to share that we have officially been deemed an FQHC!

This achievement does not belong to any one person. It’s the result of deliberate, sustained effort by the IWS Family Health team, our Board, and the many champions who believed in what this designation could mean for the children, families, and communities we serve.

I’m grateful to more people than I can name, but I especially want to thank Michelle Di Benedetto, Elisa Revello, Karen Williams, Lisa Finch, and Rachel Sacks, MPH at Leading Healthy Futures for their leadership in developing our winning proposal. I also want to thank our dedicated Board of Directors, including our board Chair, Richard D. Raskin, for their foresight and unwavering support as we pursued this designation.
